Electric Bike / Bicycle

Featured Replies

all i know, small electric bicycles are free from tax and registration and you do not need to wear a helmet too.

but i am sure Richard knows more about them.

Do you have any "official" papers for your bike that stating type, speed or power (kW) of the bike? If noone here can answer your question than the best you can do is contacting the Department of Land Transportation and ask them. They should know it.

Have no papers. What is the definition of small electric bike? Less than 800watts?

I've been seriously contemplating an electric bicycle so i can peacefully give BIB the finger as i pass by their breathalyzer control on my way to/from gogo.

As it stands, no-one is making money off me as i stay home

If it runs not over 60 km no need anything same as the 50 cc small bikes.

The chinese ones wear out fast I can say.

The shop on 3rd that stocks them has electric scooters that are 3 generations behind what is being made in China now. I would imagine it's the same for electric bicycles.

I think i scared the crap out of an old man when i asked him about his electric bicycle a couple of days ago,

he was practically running away from me
