3 Wheel Conversion

Featured Replies

I'm interested in finding a supplier for a rear axle used to convert a Honda Wave/Dream style bike to a 3 wheeler.

Something like this.

My plan is not to build a 3 wheeler, but one of these.

The rear axle arrangement they use on the carts is like this.

In Bangkok, years back I saw many disabled people & their 3 wheelers hanging out just north of Khao San Rd.

I'm guessing someone in BKK is/was building these conversions.

Can anyone give me contact details for somewhere I can buy this kit ?

Somewhere in Chiang Mai would be best for me, but BKK would be ok.

I could build an axle from scratch, but buying a ready made one would save me a lot of time & petrol.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have the details off hand but there are a few companies in America (USA) that can supply off road buggy drive trains....which are light weight and compact. They also sell rack and pinion steering and brake bits.

Do a search on off road buggy/ies and parts you should come across what you want or something similar.

Thanks BSJ,

That stuff would work, but the idea is a budget build with locally sourced components.

I guess I'll just have to visit Khao San & see if the 3 wheelers still hang out there.
