Tinnitus Treatment In Singapore, One Man's Report

rTMS

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation. Didn't work for me.

Beginning my pilgrimage for tinnitus cures, I underwent five days of experiemntal treatment in the neurology clinic at Singapore General Hospital recently because the treatment was offered for free. Well, not entirely I had to, because of hospital rules, see an ENT specialist first. There was also some concern whether I was at risk for seizures as in my medical history I said that *maybe* I had a brain fever as a child. Out of curiosity I also paid for an EEG out of my own pocket so he had no excuse to deny me participation (*which incidently says I am not normal, but the MD doing the study looked at it and said there was no cause for concern).

Bottom linL. My tinnitus is no better and possibly very slightly worse, or at least the slight worsening of the ringing in my head from an ear infection just before did not get better.

Also, after the magnetic banging on my skull for ten or so minutes after every single session put me in a very irritable gumpy impatient mood. Not just once or twice, but every time. So there appears to have been some connection.

Maye it works for depression, anxiety etc, but it was not even a slightly therapeutic method for my high-pitch ringing

You are forewarned.

Well, yes, thanks for that, i think us sufferes all know there is no cure, the brief relief i get is by pinching my nose while trying to breathe out till my ears pop, perhaps ok for 10mins, or the Thai version of putting your thumb into your ear, push hard and twist 90%, Or you could create a pain somewhere else, like hitting your big toe with a hammer, this happened to me some years ago, well, kicking a glass bottle actually, but same thing, tinnitis stopped for as long as the toe was painfull,,

Lickey the first two things you suggested didn't work for me. I am going outside now to get my hammer.
