Hi

I need someone to come to my small condo in chiang mai twice a week and clean condo, clean car and do ironing (not much)

How does one go about finding a maid for a 5-6 hours a week and how much would i pay for that?

Thanks

so let me encapsulate your needs. You want a cleaner from 2.5 hours to 3 hours per DAY two days a week to come to your modest condo and clean, iron, wash you car. So minimum wage is 300 Baht per day and they will only be working say 1/3rd of a day which comes to 100 Baht per day. I'm sure that they will be lining up at your door to apply. Anything else that you want them to do? Windows perhaps, hey why don't you cram shopping into their job description

Nasty reply to a legitimate question. Not unusual for T-V.

I figure about 200 per day should do it, IF you can find someone who can and will do what you want.

A girlfriend might do it but that would be outrageously expensive.

The first thing that I would do is ask others in your condo block if they know of a housekeeper that needs some extra work. Also put up a notice on the community bulletin board.

Just wait until he gets that new kitchen, then he will be wanting someone to wash his cup and plate.

Not sure I can see how a modest condo needs someone else to keep it in order....laundry can be taken to the local for 30bt a kg and you can have your car jet washed for something equally minimal at any gas station.

Ive found when living with your girlfriend, its best to get someone else to do the chores. This eliminates any potential arguements over who does what for who.

Definitely talk with the condo management or others in your condo building. In our building, there are several well-respected maids who work for 10-15 people per week, 1/2 day at each. Also, the building cleaning staff takes on "special assignments", but that's more for when you're moving out or ill -- i.e. for when you don't have a regular maid. Expect to pay 300-400 baht for a 1/2 day. I don't know anyone in the condo who asks their maid to clean their car -- they go to the car care place across the street. Ironing -- up to you to try to ask a maid to do that, but there are many laundry ladies around with the proper equipment to do ironing quickly and properly. Most people don't have a commercial quality iron or ironing board(s) in their condo.

Good idea - actually i havent done that because the condo block im in is still a building site, im the first person to move in. Once other people move in i imagine there might be a maid service, and a laundry service possibly

My GF cleans houses and condos for a living in CM. She charges 125 baht per hour and does a great job. Her name is Sandy and you can PM for her number. Here's a link to her ad:

The ad says link no longer available.

Is she still working?

They had an argument about how much work he wanted her to do so she pulled the plug whistling.gif LOLclap2.gif

Contact Chiang Mai Cleaning Company....

Good luck with that, sent over 5 emails in recent times with no reply whatsoever.

I have been told that they charge around 3,000 baht per day for a 3 person crew.

The 'Senior' maid in my condo organises the Private Cleaning in my Condo.

Once a week she and one other come and dig out my Pit. Cheaper that throwing in a Mills Bomb.

One does the room and other cleans the Hong Nam, and rewashes my dishes, cutlery.

Takes them about 20 mins and B 200, B100 each is the pay.

john

Trustworthy and reliable.
