Can anyone advise why in the last month the previously pretty reliable 3BB (TT&T) is suffering so many 'down' periods that it is becoming a real pain? I have attempted to ask 3BB but can get no sense out of them and an e-mail to their technical support remains (perhaps unsurprisingly) undeliverable!

Sorry to hear that. I have had 3BB now for a whole year without any whatsoever interuptions....

Havent heard anything about any problems either..

I live in Chaiyaphum.. Maybe it is better up here than in your area...?

A couple weeks back here in ubon was all sorts of hassles, now it is working spot on. I think they are upgrading different areas or something.

Two weeks ago True cut off my internet for two days of scheduled maintenance without prior warning. Calls to its tech support number got a recorded message saying the network was interrupted for schedule maintenance and upgrade.

A visit to the TCPB saw my phone running hot with apologies and offers of compensation from True.

Taking networks down for planned upgrade without prior notice is against the Telecommunications Act and True can now expect to be fined as a result of my complaint.

The English language skills at the TCPB are a bit limited and the complaints form is in Thai - but you can complete it in English and they will act on the complaint.

3BB in Chiang Mai never seems to have down time ever.

My experience also. Perhaps the OP can post his location and see if others have the same issues there.

3BB in CMai Sansai is fine; just transferred 3BB from center of CMai where it was just fine for the past 3 years.

When installing, their techs hammer a grounding rod of about one meter length into the lawn near the installation: for those having problems, possibly the connection came loose by pets or people walking on it.

Mine was still connected but was not completely into the ground, so I placed a small boulder beside it to prevent the connection being inadvertently loosened. A quick visual check is all that's needed, followed by a call to 3BB if needed. FWIW...

Three year pre-paid annual service with 3BB

Three year reported same trouble each month

Reported to 3BB changed ISP WAN address to 49.48.xxx.xxx

3BB service always correct outside cables outside routers to a good ISP WAN address 221.xxx.xxx.xxx

Nobody can explain what is the bad 3BB WAN address 49.48.xxx.xxx to our Jomtien location but always after calling 3BB service changes our WAN IP to a good fast working address starting 221.xxx.xxx.xxx

We have online internet house ALARM report trouble as our burglar alarm to email when away

from Jomtien. We lost report starting May 2013 and an IP address TRACE shows 3BB Chonburi

assigned 49.48.xxx.xxx address can not ping the Jomtien house address.

To make this a huge problem there is no way to talk to or email contact 3BB using the English language. Their 3BB Support rejects the SEND BUTTON outside Thailand..

I ask all readers who have 3BB accounts and who are willing to help contact 3BB to help resolve

this trouble with 3BB..

Three years with 3BB and all the trouble calls to 1530 was corrected on the 3BB street wiring and

never inside the house wiring or the house internet Burglar ALARM equipment. The equipment is

simply programmed to send an email photo on schedule and also work perfect using 221.XXX.XXX.XXX range for the 3BB assigned direct customer WAN IP address connection...

If any reader from the Jomtien area is having trouble please read your 3BB router address and

verify if it was changed to a starting WAN IP connection address of 49.48.xxx.xxx and also please

test your signal xx.xdb lost (DECIBEL) attenuation for up and down stream performance..

If any reader using 3BB service can speak Thai please ask 3BB 1530 (Bangkok) Customer Support for an ENGLISH assigned formated customer service support trouble report web access

or an ENGLISH international direct dialed customer service trouble report telephone number in English language...

Presuming that it's an ADSL connection, the best place to start is by looking at the ADSL statistics page on your modem/router. Specifically the sync rate, SNR margin and Line Attenuation. That will give you a pretty good idea whether the problem is localised i.e. a bad connection either inside your premises or between your premises and the local DSLAM.

If you're not sure what the numbers mean, post them here and someone will be able to tell you whether they are in range or not.

3bb has nothing to do with your problem, you adsl line is bad, check the values and report them to 1530 so they'll send a tech next day to fix it.

I have a problem with 3BB. It's a new installation last week, and I get a new IP address allocated every few minutes. This doesn't seem to affect anything, downloads, Skype, Youtube, etc. But I am getting warning messages from GMail about "unusual activity" on my E-Mail account.

The new IP address allocations are not random, indicating cable problems, sometimes they are every hour, even down to the second, sometimes the interval is a multiple of 5 minutes, such as this morning:

It's not just me, my friend (on a different DSLAM) has exactly the same problem, and frequently we rotate the same IP addresses between us.

Any ideas?

The sync rate should be 10-20% higher than your package speed.

I beg to differ.

We live in Sanpiisua and it is off and on frequently every day. The latest problem is when it goes off for a couple of hours or so we then get a message telling us that we have entered the wrong password. This is patently not the case and it takes up to a day to resolve. Requests for reasons why this happens have been the usual ' switch off router and switch back on' which has no effect of course to 'someone else is using the same password' but my request to prove this results in no answer.

For the third time in two months it has happened again this afternoon. As usual I am using my smartphone as a hotspot and asking myself why do I need 3BB because Dtac 3G handles our needs. It may well be time for a cancelled contract with 3BB.

I can't see sync rate or maximum attainable rate in the router stats. It does state Upstream 1278kbps and Downstream 17919kbps. I assume that's my maximum attainable rates.

Those numbers are good too. I think you're right. Since the disconnects aren't at random times it must be a 3bb issue. Perhaps the local DSLAM.

People who tell that any internet connection in Thailand has no down time just are very lucky or just don't use it enough to know know that their connection is down.

3bb is the worst for us, we have 3bb, true and TOT, all used for IP camera and also by some people working on the computers 15 hours a day at least, so we know when it is down or not !

The problem with 3bb is that it is not possible to contact them online and need to call them and talk to people who understand nothing...

Why not an online chat with tech like True ?

You can call 3BB at Service, at 1530.... they are actually very quick to respond....
