HI,

I HAVE RECENTLY HAD TO START USING READING GLASSES.

THE STRENGTH IS PLUS 1750 IN BOTH EYES AND I ONLY NEED THEM FOR READING SO I DON'T WANT CONTACT LENSES.

THAT WAS THE EASY PART.

I HAVE BEEN BUYING CHEAP 200BHT ONES BUT I KEEP BREAKING THEM.I CAN AFFORD A NEW PAIR EVERY MONTH BUT I'M GETTING BORED OF IT.I USUALLY PUT THEM DOWN SOMEWHERE AND SIT ON THEM.

SO I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF SOME SOLUTIONS.

THE FIRST IS TO BUY A STRAP SO I CAN HANG THEM ROUND MY NECK.WHICH I DON'T REALLY LIKE.

THE SECOND IS TO BAY AN ELASTIC STRAP SO AS I SLIDE THEM UP ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THAT WOULD WORK

THE THIRD IS TO BUY EXTRA STRONG FRAMES AND

THE FOURTH IS TO BUY THESE SPRING BACK INTO SHAPE GLASSES OR WHATEVER THEY'RE CALLED.

I WILL PROBABLY USE TWO OF THESE SOLUTIONS,BETTER FRAMES AND A STRAP.

UNLESS THERE ARE GLASSES ESPECIALLY DESIGNED TO STAY ON THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD WHEN NOT IN USE.

WHAT ARE THESE SPRING BACK INTO SHAPE GLASSES CALLED ANYWAY AND ARE THEY JUST A GIMMICK.

ALL ADVICE APPRECHIATED

I guess you're talking about titanium frames.

YES,

I'M GETTIS WORDS LIKE TITANIUM FRAMES,MEMORY METAL.

DO THESE THINGS REALLY WORK OR ARE GOOD STRONG FRAMES BETTER

Yes they work quite well but repeated abuse can still break them. Rolling over on to them on the bed will probably not result in any damage. Make sure you realy get titanium and not just metal.

There are some similar ones by Nike with flexible plasic which look fairly good for this but frames cost about 6000 baht.

There is also a memory " plastic ", which is much cheaper as titanium and is used for eyeglasses for sports people. Any optical shop in Thailand will have them.

WHICH IS MORE FLEXIBLE PURE TITANIUM OR MEMORY TITANIUM

There is no memory titanium. Titanium is a memory metal. keep in mind that the Titanium frames are very thin, almost like steel wire.

Take a look at the memory plastic frames, they have them at every Thai optical and are cheap.

RIGHT I'M GOING TO GO WITH MEMORY PLASTIC.

JUST 2 MORE QUESTIONS

1 I REALLY CAN'T STAND GLASSES HANGING AROUND MY NECK.IS THERE A STRAP DESIGNED FOR KEEPING YOUR GLASSES UP ON YOUR HAIR WHEN YOU'RE NOT USING THEM.

2 IS THE GLASS IN THE LENSES OF THE MORE EXPENSIVE TYPES MORE EXPENSIVE BETTER IN ANY WAY THAN IN THE 200BHT PAIRS.IS IT BETTER FOR YOUR EYES,LESS LIKELY TO SCRATCH OR GIVE CLEARER VISION.

THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED

my sunglasses live atop my head, just get a pair with decent tension on the arms -- too little and they will keep falling off, too much and you will get headaches.

And do stop yelling, if you cant see the screen to type hit Ctrl + to zoom

Or the OP could just buy several pairs of the 200B glasses at a time.

I have titanium frames that I got a little over 20 years ago. Couldn't be happier.

Now someone needs to invent lenses that change as our eyes do.

O.K,

I've got an elasticated strap that keeps my glasses around my neck,on my eyes and on my head.

That's that problem solved.

I've also found memory plastic frame less glasses on eBay.

The great thing about cheap glasses is that when they get scratched you can get a new pair.

if you have an expensive pair of glasses you need to get the lenses changed.

My last question is,are the more expensive lenses better for your eyes or do they scratch less or are they nicer to look through than the 200bht jobs.

I'm new to glasses but i notice with motorcycle helmet visors even when they are new the world looks nicer through the more expensive ones.

Because it could be only 350bht for lenses that scratch less and feel better and last longer.

I'm also waiting for rose tinted spectacle jokes

Or, if there is a Daiso store around, get them for B60. (Daiso is a Japanese store where everything is one price -- B60 -- and they have a small assortment of reading glasses.)

[Edited to correct price. I thought it was B65, but the web site says B60...]
