Phuket Justice: Hope fades for finding Jintana's executioners
Phuket Gazette

PHUKET: -- Police officers’ hopes are dissipating as they once again turn to the public for help in finding the executioners of Jintana Mahattanapak, who was shot in the head on her way home from work in January.

With leads running out earlier this year, police were banking on CCTV footage captured in the area to help identify the killers or at least provide leads (story here).

The CCTV footage was sent to forensic experts in Bangkok, but have yet to yield any results, Phuket Provincial Police Commander Choti Chavalviwat told the Phuket Gazette.

“We have not received any report from the experts in Bangkok. Because the CCTV footage quality is very low, experts have yet to gain any new information from it,” Maj Choti said.

“We are now turning back to the public for any information that might lead us to the murders,” he said.

Anyone with information that may lead to the killers is asked to contact Phuket Provincial Police office at 076-369140 or 076-369191, or to contact Maj Choti on his personal number at 081-8021011.

“Anyone who has information concerning the murder please let us know. We will respond immediately, no matter what,” he added.

This is the lady who was shot in the head inside her car by people in another car whilst waiting at the traffic lights at Central Phuket right? If so how can there possibly be no witnesses - or in Thailand has no one any sense of civic responsibility or maybe is it that everyone is scared of the Phuket mafia? Phuket will be looking for independence soon - it is so far different from the rest of Thailand already.

That's why it's called "Planet Phuket" - it's a different world here.

Actually a later news article said that she was shot by the passenger on a motorbike. Many of the more violent crimes in the province of Phuket have been perpetuated by men from a near by province...

She found long term corruption at her work.

Either she joined in, condoned it, or.....................hello Si Tammarat shooter.

Quite a nice and beautiful lady. I was lucky to meet her a couple times. What happened is completely unfair and that the police can't pull every one of the workers she had problems with in for questioning, starting with the Thai senior staff members, shows they really don't care.

I agree.

What's the point in employing people here, because if they do their job properly, which sometimes involves kicking some ass, they can get killed for it.
