PHUKET: Eight motorcycles were incinerated early yesterday (April 22) next to the Irawadee Ket Ho condominium in Kathu. This brings to 20 the number of motorcycles burned in a continuing spate of arson attacks.

Local people called police at 3am to say there was a blaze next to building C of the condo.

Pol Capt Wittaya Sinjumroen of Thung Thong Police Station told The Phuket News, “By the time I got there the flames had already been extinguished. Looking at it, I believe one bike was torched and the fire then spread to the other seven.

“I believe the fire was started deliberately but we need to investigate further.”

Asked whether this incident was related to previous arson attacks on motorbikes, Capt Wittaya said, “I don’t know yet, but we will find out”.

maybe look at the person who usually parks in the spot

It does inspire some new names for motorbikes:

Yamaha Burner

Honda Incinerator

Vespa Blaze

Kawasaki Scorcher

Honda Inferno

Yamaha Flare

Or maybe Nicolas Cage is on the island, firming a new Ghost rider movie.

Bur more seriously. Could this be just an 'fashion' of the moment to the yaba filled youths?

Someone lost loved one to an motorbike accident and burn the bikes in anger?

There has been a lot of these lately. Now 2 new cases at Kamala

What is the possible motive for burning the bikes around the island?

Loud exhausts

Rude and Irresponsible riders

Harassment from motorbike mafia's

Road rage

etc...

Could be motorbike hire shops looking to update their fleet.

"That will 50,000 baht farang - thankyou, and I hope you enjoyed your holiday on Phuket. Come back soon." :) :)

Probably the biker gangs mentioned in another article.
