Englishman Arrested for Alleged Child Abuse

17_03_1.gif

Pattaya Tourist Police, acting on information, raided a house in Soi Kao Talo and discovered a 43-year-old Englishman with five young boys in his home. The man was taken into custody and the boys interviewed by the police in an attempt to discover what was actually happening behind the closed doors of the residence.

According to the boys, the man met them and asked if they would like to come to his house and play video games. The five accepted this innocent sounding proposition and had a great time twiddling knobs and playing with the toggles of the video machines. However, they were somewhat taken aback when the man allegedly offered them 500 baht each if they would engage in activities of a sexual nature with him.

The boys told police they didn’t really want to do the things he asked but they were poor and 500 baht can go a long way in video game arcades and the like. The man warned the boys not to tell anybody about the little extras they were doing. All five boys are under the age of 15 and as such are deemed by the laws of Thailand to be minors. The Englishman remains in custody and will appear in court at a later date.

I think they should turn him over to the boys parents and when they are finished "talking" to him, take him 100 miles off shore and tell hime to swim back...

Now...it's people like this that deserve more than a 30 years long stay in a thai prison, this guy should be beaten and torturated and after that call in a doctor to heal him and start it all over again, as many times as possible, I can't think of any word to describe such people...

Do you really believe the boys parents care about their kids or worry about their whereabout in this case? I have seen many times again and again many kids from poor family were often being neglected and left alone to feed and defend for themselves. It’s sad scene but this is life in Thailand.

For once i agree with you Alex.

Chop his bits off and let him rot :o

It seems that this guy had a liking for his knob and toggle to be twiddled with too.

The story doesn't state who dobbed him in to the police. I hope it was the boys themselves and I hope that other underage kids do likewise.

No sympathy for the perp, jail him. But what is it with these Thai kids.

So many stories about them going along with these indecent proposals !

Cast your mind back to when you were a teen ... Would you

have agreed to do these things for a handfull of dollars ? ... NOT ! :o

This paedophile, and the likes of him are mentally ill and, being so, should not be thrown into a Thai jail....he should be locked up in a Thai mental institution. I can't begin to imagine how dreadful that would be....but, he deserves nothing less.

Naka, This is a different world to the one you and I grew up in.

Most, if not all these kids are starving street kids - many of them stateless -many of them worked by evil gangs.

May I quote from a Uk charity site report, (Pattaya Street Kids), written in January:

...There are still many street children living on the streets of Pattaya and as always these children are at risk from sex tourists. The gangs that work these kids appear to have an endless supply of children, as when a few children are removed from the streets others appear very quickly to take their place. Other children work selling gum and flowers around the bars and there are still many children begging on the streets. In most cases if a child does not collect a certain amount of money a day through their activities the gangs that ‘care’ for them beat them.....

There is much more in this report that would bring tears to the eyes of even the most hard bitten of us.

Pattaya is our adopted home, maybe we should do something about it?

Yes Mobi, times have changed and we have taken the opportunity to live in another part of the world.

This problem isn't confined to just Pattaya or to Thailand...(Gary Glitter didn't come to this part of S.E. Asia for the sunshine). It's a global issue and we'll find it wherever there is poverty and an uncaring society.

The waifs and strays of Mexico City and Rio, on the other side of the world, are no different from the street kids of Pattaya. Really, I don't know what the answer is to this problem. It's up to the society in which these kids live and, however much we try ourselves to change the lives of these kids, the poverty and uncaring societies continue unchanged.

I agree, it's harrowing to see these very young children begging and dying in these places.

I agree with you on this one 100%. More than that, I know about parents who accepted money for their children and there are a few out there :D

Hope I won't be accused for racism or God knows what again, right, Mobi? :o

Would the parents not see dollar/baht signs if he was turned over to the parents? BKK90210's first sentence says most of it. GG has bought himself out of a long stretch in jail, this guy could do the same if he had the chance.

Let the law take it's course, Thailand may be one of the sex capitals of the world but at least the law hits hard if it's allowed to.

Hang him by his nuts from a lamppost in front of Royal Gardens. Leave him there until he falls off. Then jail what's left of his carcass and have him clean the toilets for the rest of his life.

Unfortunelty, thailands judicial system will probably show leniency towards him(if he has the dosh to pay)....

But as seen in the other thread (pattayabritgets30years) he was lucky he didn't have a yabba habbit aswell ,as this is a far more serious matter in thailand..

It will interesting to see how long this guy gets(if he gets anything other than deportation) and then compare it to the other guys ya ba punishment...

And then ask a few thais, whos worse?

The guy who messed with kids??

or the guy who dealt yaba??

I have a feeling most thais would say the latter..

Judge John Connor from Ohio would give the bloke a free pass.

In the UK he would probably get a free holiday (certainly if he was younger).

Sad but true. :o

both are equally as bad as each other....

The people who buy yaba have a choice the dealer is only suppling a market

Children don't get a choice, peodophiles inflict thier will on them

and of course people who supply kids to a market are as guilty as the perverts who use them

As a dad wherever you are there is the stranger danger education both parents should teach the kids. Easy to say when you are aware there are terrible things happening all the time and some parents will stoop to any level to get a buck to.

To think as Kerryd pointed out in the other thread some persons would brush the issue under the table is frightening!

Pedophiles can appear to be quite normal. They don't see their behavior as deviant. Some of your friends may be pedophiles and you don't know it. I speak from experience. They change the lives of their victums forever. They can't be cured by meds or docs. They destroy families. This is a subject very close to my heart. You should report any that you know about. Spmetimes it is the parent that is the pedophile and then the person seeks out other children for their pleasure. Trust me, it is difficult to recognize and believe that someone you know would do this.

Quite true. Many western countries have passed laws allowing them to charge their own citizens for crimes committed overseas.

That way if the "alleged" criminal manages to escape justice in the country he committed the crime, he could still be nailed upon returning home.

I've done it once (though the guy in question had been caught, tried and sentenced by the Thai system). I figured I'd send the details to the RCMP just in case he managed to wiggle out of going to jail somehow (according to the news reports in the Post, the Nation and the Pattaya Mail, he was caught with over 3,000 photos and 200 videos of himself having sex with children in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Some of those kids were apparently as young as 18 months :D:D:D )

If anyone deserved to have his meat and veg chopped off, it was that guy. Haven't heard anything about it since then (that was back in 98 or 99 maybe ?). Maybe he had an "accident" :o

I couldn't agree more, and this subject is also very close to my heart. Pre-teenage kids who suffer even so-called "mild" sexual abuse (i.e no penetration) are psychologically scarred for the rest of their lives. In their mid/ late teens they suffer from depression, have panic attacks, are often self harmers, and have frequent flashbacks. They will carry these problems with them for the rest of their adult lives, and are often unable to have normal hetero sexual realtions and enjoy happy married lives.

As Kathyjune says - there is no cure.

It is very VERY sad.

We can't save the world, but maybe we can do just a little bit to help some of these starving, highly vulnerable street kids that roam the sois of Pattaya. :o

I'm very sorry, but that's just not funny.

You don't help these kids by assaulting them.

So true - we once had a guy stay in our flat that turned out to be a predatory pedophile and we later helped convicy him in a small way after he had been caught in another part of the country.

It does seem crass but I am glad and I am sure my flatmate was that he apparently did not do anything while staying with us - or at least in the area - as we would have had to move if we got the chance before the house was burned down.

My flatmate knew him slightly through the industry he was in and invited him to stay for a few weeks which ended up months and he stole from us too by faking a break in.

A thoroughly nasty character when it all came out but there was nothing at the time aroused suspicions - it was only after looking back you thought that was weird!!!!

I am glad we helped put this guy away in a small way - he got life with a tarrif of only 6 years though but I doubt he will be out after 6.

He definately thought he was doing no wrong and that it was society putting bounds on things - some very strange things came out on the psychy reports.

It makes me shudder to this day that i stayed in the same house with this guy but even more so that at the time we did not pick up on anything - every sop often we talk about this and say how the hel_l did we not guess he was such an unsavoury character!

Once someone is addicted to Yaba....they dont have a choice, only a desire for more of it....they will do whatever they have to, to get it...including murder....they also become infected with diseases such as hep C and AIDS....Apart from the costs to society for medical care, these diseases are sometimes then passed on to innocents...Have you ever seen a new born baby undergoing withdrawal from drugs because the mother used during pregnancy..is this not also Child abuse ???

Dont you dare tell me that a drug dealer is no worse than a child abuser....a child abuser may ruin some lives...a drug dealer ruins many many more. A child abuser maybe morally repugnent....a drug dealer is socially repugnent. They are equally deplorable.

So <deleted> to you Sir....

But that's the underlying point....

You can bet your last cent that HE never thought (in his sad mind) he was doing any serious harm, if anything he might think the cash was helping and the kids volunteered.

Demented? ignorant? you betcha! and now he can face the music.... and if he has to spend time in a UK nick they'll teach him a few valuable lessons and shove his Playstation right up his XBox!

Similarly, when Gary Glitter Babysitter gets out in 10 months, now he has been convicted in Vietnam he's up for deportation to the U.K. where he could face additional charges for Child Sex Offences Overseas. Either way, on return home he's guaranteed a welcoming committee eager to help him 'understand' the rules.
