Anyone following?

Last year was the first time i have seen the event televised in Thailand, and this year the coverage (on True) is even better. The only pity is that between games, for some reason we don't get to see the studio analysis, and instead get to watch spectators shuffling in their seats and murmuring. Nothing like a good bit of dead TV time.

Anyway, with regards the snooker, some big names dropping out early. Watched the Milkman vs the Thunder from Down Under last night. Scrappy affair to say the least.

Did anyone catch the curious Thai chap, who seemed a bit out there... clapping his own shots is something i have never seen before. Bit of Ray Reardon about him in the looks department. Anyway, well done to him for getting through into the second round.

Looking forward to seeing Ronnie play. Last year he was fantastic. He's got all the flair of a Jimmy White but with the safety play of a Hendry. And he can see a game out too. Best player of all time in my book. I do wonder though, having played so little over the last year, whether he'll be rusty or not? Or perhaps he'll be fresh. Time will tell...

I enjoyed the Thai guys play, and he brought a bit of fun with it that the spectators liked. I missed the end of Robertsons game, I got to 7 - 7, who won ?

Afternoon transam.

The milkman won.

Yeah the Thai guy is good entertainment. I don't think he'll progress much further though.

Apparently he lives with James Wattana. Surprised he is still kicking around and sharing accommodation with other players. Thought he'd be set up with a house and family in Thailand by now.

Yep, our Thai friend didn't last very long... the young Welsh chap White made him look very ordinary. Still, he had his five minutes of fame...

Was watching Trump last night. Looked pretty awesome. Such flair and played at such a speed. He's the only one close to Ronnie right now.

All-English semis.

Ronnie all the way. I don't think the Trump is consistent enough to beat him (currently 14:10).

Trump has looked nervous in this match and missed a lot of pots, which are usually bread and butter for him. Ronnie is playing well, but also giving Trump a certain amount of respect. Some of the safety play, which is alien to both players, has been fantastic and great to watch. I would like to see a Ronnie or Trump v Walden final.

I gather we are getting better coverage here. Last night I was giving my son updates on FB, whilst he was watching election broadcasts, which took precedence!.........that's just not cricket. biggrin.png

Now I've heard it all. Watching election broadcasts over the crucible or any sport for that matter! It certainly isn't cricket laugh.png

Not seen much of Barry Hawkins, but unless he does Ronnie's head in somehow, I'd say he's in for a rough ride.

He'll also be back next year whatever he says now.

'Up 'n down like a whore's drawers' lol.

Shame he didn't finish with a ton, but the guy is just one of a kind. Well done, Ronnie!
