Dave I just read the threads to this topic. I did my appointment via the email. Got a date in two weeks from the date of the email. We were coming from Chiangrai.

Rob Chambers, is the Senior Migration Officer, and Damien Kilner, the new PMO in Bangkok; Rachael Faulkner is in the Overseas Resources & Liaison Section Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs. Use these people wisley.

Good luck with the application.

Rob is a fairly decent guy, but he`s there to do a job, so don`t expect special treatment.

But I reckon he`s a bit of a trickster too. For example, I had sent him some additional info near the end of our app, and he emailed me and said something like "your doc`s have been added to your file and will be used when a desision is made on your app." After hearing that I thought it was gonna be another month to wait til they got around to doing it (it had already been about 4). Then, very unexpectedly, we got The Call the next day! :o

Yeah, he`s a tricky one to be sure! :D

Graham and CH belive that a decision on your SP will be delayed. I suspect the any decision may be delayed. I also believe that your wife must be in Thailand when the decision is conveyed to her, not necessarily when it is made.

I have found nothing on the Immigration web site to suggest otherwise, nor is there any from my personal experience.

I didn't say one way or the other. I think it was Bronco that mentioned that you could no longer do a SV and TV at the same time. For us it was compounded by the fact they took my wife's passport at the interview. :o

thats the way it was when we did it, you get the 309, enter Oz before the due date then 2 years down the track PR.

good luck
