This week the air-con went out, and I called on the services of Khun Gan of the DD Electric and Air Service 086-9122508, for repair. Khun Gan speaks some English.

Khun Gan & co-workers have worked on my six year-old air-con three times before (two "nam yah" coolant top-ups, and one compressor replacement); he was originally recommended to me by a friend living at the Rimping Condo.

I called Wednesday before noon, and Khun Gan and team were out before 6pm that day; turned out to be a fan-repair problem, so they had to take off the wall-unit, and take it away with them.

They returned Thursday, in the afternoon, and re-installed the repaired wall unit, and topped up the coolant.

Total cost: 1000 baht, which seems very reasonable for around four hours of work by a two-man one day, and then a three-man, crew the second day.

Used DD electric to clean our condo air con today & boy did it need it !

Called yesterday & booked for 9am today. They were on time with a follow up call right before they arrived

They were amazingly thorough & tidy.

Cleaning up after themselves when done.

Seems like a very good deal for the 400 baht price.

Three workers each did their section & were all done in about an hour.

One cleaning main wall unit

One cleaning compressor

One cleaning all the parts that are taken off wall unit.

They have their pressure washer & blow dryer & do a great job.

Also take great care in not getting your walls wet by using their protective bag etc.

Very nice courteous guys. Job Well done & glad you recommended them & I will be using them again.

My Air Con packed up on Friday evening.

I had a very uncomfortable night so searched this site and contacted Khun Gan. His English is same as my Thai but I got my message across, then after 5 mins his Lady called to confirm details and address.

He arrived promptly and diagnosed problem as a failed Fan.

Panasonic said 6 days for replacement. 6 days for sure says I, he smiled and shrugged his shoulders.

OK new Air Con, we agreed on a larger 18 BTU and he took the old one in part exchange.

New was installed that afternoon and two of his men corrected a fault next day.

Good service from a man who encourages confidence.

Hmm, I wouldn't buy a new car if they told me to wait a week for part just because it was inconvenient.

But a car this isn't, Eyecatcher. What would your patience cost you? Six nights a-roasting or six nights in an a/c guesthouse maybe?

Tough call, really.

No not a tough call.

In my younger days I did not need air con.

Now I suffer, so B20 K was released from my bank.
