[Myanmar] Democracy Activists Continue Asia Diplomatic Tour

Leading democracy activists from Burma were due to continue their Asian tour on Saturday, Eleven Media reported on Tuesday, making a pit stop in South Korea to receive an award. Min Ko Naing, a leading 88 Generation activist, was due to receive the 2009 “Gwangju Prize for Human Rights.†Min Ko Naing was accompanied by Ko Ko Gyi, and Jimmy, both members of the 88 Generation students’ group established by Min Ko Naing after he was released from prison in a Burmese government amnesty program in 2012. Min Ko Naing has won numerous prizes for his human rights work.
