Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will soon make a trip to Burma, according to an official government statement released on Tuesday. Although no date was mentioned, Japanese media said the three-day visit would begin on Friday. Abe, who will be the first Japanese prime minister to visit Burma since 1977, will be accompanied by several dozen business leaders during the visit, reports said. The trip will focus on enhancing bilateral relations, which have opened up since President Thein Sein paid a milestone visit to Japan in April 2012.
