Is anybody else out there appalled by the way the Beeb is spiralling down to the level of the craploid pressnet.

Headlining articles on their web-site like "David Pleat says Bale is too young to move to ..."; Michael Owen says (who TF cares what Michael Owen says). Toilet paper has much more value!

I think the BBC has been going downhill for a few years now. Lost their impartiality and seem quite opinionated these days. Certainly BBC world imho

On tv they employ crap pundits who don't seem to do any research work before games yet get paid a fortune.

Mindyou when you consider other goings on at the "beeb" over the last thirty years, Jimmy Saville and his mates, that the management appears to have created a wall of silence to cover up, i suppose maintaining quality journalism is the least of their concerns

i am appalled but not surprised. the bbc has been following sky sports' lowest common denominator pitch for several years now, and it's such a shame. in an era when there is more insightful and intelligent football analysis around than ever if you want it, the beeb treats us to the droning misery of mark lawrenson, alan hansen and alan shearer on match of the day while on radio five live, the flagship sports radio station, we have to endure the screaming idiocy of windowlickers and mouth-breathers like robbie savage and steve claridge.

ironically david pleat is one of the most intelligent football people on the bbc - sadly he's incapable of speaking in coherent sentences or pronouncing players' names which have more than one syllable.

michael owen has been cued up for several years to be their next anodyne golden boy - he'll be doing roving reports for MOTD soon as a sort of junior lineker without the ears or charisma. meanwhile over on sky, gary neville - yes, gary neville - is proving what you can achieve with a semi-intelligent ex-footballer who has a remit to inform and educate and not treat his audience like complete idiots. i used to love the bbc. sadly all it does these days is get on my tits.

Gotta kind of agree about the BBC. Being an organisation that does not rely on advertising, they should just stick to reporting the facts. In fact I don't mind pundits views on things, but far too much speculative reporting. They have a page for the gossip which I like, but a page is fine, not 'scoops' with no quotes.

I though Owen had been hired by BT?

oh he has hasn't he? forgot about that, was still going off his witless appearances on MOTD2 last season. he's apparently going to be BT's lead co-commentator. jesus.

got agree with stevie about Neville. tbh when he first sarted he irrated the f out of me, but he's turned out to be rather good .as for the bbc I actually quite rate lawrenson ,sharp and concise. but the rest ! just double dull , far to smug and laddish .as for owen, 4 me he has 2 be the worst thing thats EvER hit the sports screen. AN UNINTERESTING <deleted>. that's none to bright .

I have noticed that all the decent pundits are northerners these days whistling.gif they do seem to know what they are talking about...it must be the success....the beeb is just a desperate old boys club now with Linekar holing them all together.

^ Yep, Carra is joining Neville this season, another decent addition football knowledge wise. Just hope anyone outside of Merseyside will understand him.

Keys & Gray are back on the telly this season, Al Jazeera.

Is the Saldado 'will he wont he' nonsense over with yet?

Arriving with a 30m price tag is quite the burden whoever you are - even more so if you're someone like Soldado. Despite his goals over the last few years, he's looked anything but a 30m player.

Sounds like Spurs' answer to Hernandez. From other despicable sources I've read he is no longer Valencia captain and the deal has a deadline of Thursday.

I could be wrong but arnt the BBc mainly based up north ?

As for caregiver, his nasal whine is just shocking, as for him commenting regularly we'll have to wait and see, I tell you who I rate though, stan collymore i know he's had his issue certainly lamping his ex wernt that clever, but he went through some mental health issue, and dealt with it , big up to the geezer and when ever i listen to him, I always come away thinking his comments are pretty astute ,, makes hartson jason roberts and Les ferdinand look precisely what they are, rather stupid, imo.

Hey idjit who's "caregiver"?

I agree about Collymore, have you had the same problems too?

Anyway this is all off topic let's get back to the nitty-gritty of whether Cornelius is leaving for a world class global footballing mega club for £450 gazzilion or staying at Stratford Hotspuds???

Yevhen Konoplyanka another gob full. Apparently LFC have approached, he sounds alright on paper.

Skrtel off on loan to Napoli. If this goes through then Papa must be close.
