Bore Water (ground Water)

Featured Replies

I have bought a house in Lansak (Uthai Thani).

It has bore water available, although previous owner took the pump.

The neighbours say they drink it but I wont take their word for it, is it safe?

It looks clean.

I will post some details of the house purchase, renovation and prices when I get back to Australia, I think there is a lot of interest on this topic.

Thanks.

In general no water is safe to drink until tested and the results show it safe. Even then I would be very careful, especially if this is a shallow well type source that sewerage does not seep into it during heavy rains. That your neighbor has no problem does not mean you will not - we get accustomed to most bacteria over time but you would not have that safeguard. Filter treatment is not that expensive and you can just boil until you have filters.
