Deja Vu. Same crap that he was mouthing only about a week ago although the 'revolving fund' bit seems to have been added.

How long can it last when outgoings are higher than income? Another secret perhaps?

Tjeez, how many more times do I have to tell all of you?

Thailand definitely become the worlds top rice exporter, We have put emphasize on quantity. We have 7.5 million tonnes in G2G deals. You can believe me, I'm the Commerce Minister.

signed, Boonsong Teriyapirom

And if need be, I'll personally buy enough rice myself to make Thailand re-emerge as the global rice centre.

Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom recently visited Tesco Lotus Rangsit

Bla! Bla! Bla! just give us the facts not what you think you want us to hear.

Well he didn't have much choice of what to say. Remember he was

"Officially opening the 6th Thailand Rice Convention 2013"

Couldn't very well tell them we are going to continue to screw up so invest your money in safe rice storage buildings.

will be delivered to buyers as scheduled and the new lot of money will be spent as a revolving fund for the coming rice pledging scheme

This bloke obviously understands cash flow better than most huh???? A revolving fund with no sales, is a non- revolving fund.

Yes that has had me wondering if they are going to sell the rice they have at a profit why does the Government have to come up with money out of the tax payers pocket?

It would be an achievement to stay solvent at all. This thing is going to be a very big and embarrassing bust.

Just imagine, every square inch of warehouse must still be full. What are they going to do with the new crop?

The great rice storage of Thailand?

This scam is a carbon copy of Thaksins 2004 rice scam. Go figure. The Govt is still holding 2 or 3 million tons from 2005 thru 2008 stocks. The BAAC still has that loan on its books and the government has been paying interest only, plus storage costs for the last 8 years. It is now being sold as animal feed.

Does any body really believe this 16 million tons will all be sold, before it rots to an almost unusable animal feed?

No disrespect, but do we have proof they are actually paying the interest? That bank belongs to the government. It is, after, a "revolving fund" which means it only looks good if your head is spinning.

No worries. Thailand is the Hub of rice storage.

So where's the Thaksinista apologist and self-appointed rice expert ChiangMaiKelly?

He's probably conferring with the dog and teacher on some suitably worded mumbo jumbo to defend the scheme, say its benefiting the poor, and blame the dems for breeding the weavils; and of course suggest most are just to dumb to understand the clever economic and fiscal policies of this erudite government coached by the master himself.

Actually, there are number of threads criticising various government actions, responses and comments recently, and no sign of the usual gang of pro PTP defenders. Maybe they've come to their senses !! whistling.gifthumbsup.gif

"...Thailand will spring back as the world’s rice trading hub despite disappointing exports of the Thai grain last year."

What is a rice trading hub? hub hub hub.

Actually, I think hub transliterated from Thai means hubris.

BP has an article today - transfer of official for releasing embarrassing figures, expecting THB200 billion this year.

They promised transparency... they sack people that provide it. And they say "trust us" when asking to put the country in 5 trillion in debt for the next 50 years. bah.gif

No disrespect taken. With every thing here in Thailand there is proof of nothing. Leaving solid proof/evidence behind does not work with corruption.

The info I can find was from the BP, or I would post the link. There is the same info somewhere here on TV but I cannot/to lazy to find it. The BAAC mentions it quite often, even though in a cryptic way.

It is "allegedly" in the neighborhood of Bt65 billion the Govt owes and is paying interest on from 2005.
