PHUKET: -- Police have posted a YouTube video showing the man they believe committed the gold shop murder-burglary in Phuket on April 8 in the hope that members of the public can identify him.

The CCTV footage (click here) shows a man with a slight limp smoking as he walks back and forth in front of the C.P. Gold Master & Jewelry store on the bypass road the night before the lethal robbery.

The man who robbed the store was reported to have a limp (story here).

“We checked the CCTV footage of the gold shop to find the suspect. We found him on the April 7 tape at 7:49pm walking in front of the shop as if to inspect it,” said Col Arun Kleawwatee, Deputy Commander of the Phuket Provincial Police.

“We are passing the CCTV clip to the media and posting it online, hoping that someone recognizes the man,” Col Arun said.

There is a 400,000-baht reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer, he added.

“Anyone with information, please call us either at the private numbers of Col Sermpan Sirikong 081-6911263 or Lt Col Prawit Engchuan 081-4158668 or the Phuket Provincial Police at 076-212046,” Col Arun urged.

“Or go to the nearest police station to file a report,” he said.

The face of the Phuket gold shop killer-robber?
Tanyaluk Sakoot

PHUKET: -- Police have found footage they believe may show the man who robbed the CP Goldmaster Shop at Tesco Lotus on April 8, fatally shooting a customer who tried to persuade him to stop.

Phuket Deputy Police Chief Col Aroon Klawati said this evening (May 27) that the video footage was from April 7, the day before the robbery (video here) took place, and appears to show a man “casing” the shop.

“The video shows a suspect walking and looking at the gold shop at around 7 pm. His gait [with a slight limp] looks like that of the robber in footage taken at the time of the robbery in the gold shop.

“He can be seen watching the shop for about a minute while smoking a cigarette.

“Now we have more evidence, I believe. If anyone knows this man I think they will recognise him.

“I hope we will arrest the gold robber as soon as possible.”

CP Goldmaster has offered a reward of B400,000 for information leading to the murderer-robber’s arrest.

Police have posted a YouTube video...

Strange that the linked Youtube account is in the name of the Gazette's reporter "Kritsada Mueanhawong".

The man they belive did it?? Would be a cock up if it wasn't him. Can you imagine that was a pic of you at the wrong place and wrong time, and see yourself here as the police belive you are the guilty one haha

I think if someone complained, YouTube would block it.

Oh those annoying and wonderful cameras. Hope the scoundrel is caught and if the man in the video casing the place is innocent, he should turn himself in.
