Two or three years ago I used to buy a monthly magazine here in Thailand that was called "Farrang" it cost 100 baht and had features on travel around SEA and reviews of bars and restaurants etc. I have not noticed it on any bookstall (although I have not been looking too hard and I was just wondering if it is still available. Did a google and got a link to "Untamed Travel", an online magazine that seems to have a flavour of the old "Farrang", but could find no mention of a print version.

Anybody know the fate of Farrang?

yep, it went through a name change (Untamed Travel) maybe 6 months or so ago? I think they expanded beyond info on Thailand, so the name change probably reflected that.

Do you know if it is just "online" or can you buy a print version?

Was OK for info but the articles were/are utter cliche riddled nonsense.

I agree. I only read Thai magazines if in an office or reception somewhere. I saw a copy of Farang Untamed in Tesco Lotus Phuket yesterday though and considered buying it but I am too cheap to spend 100 baht.

Thier head office is on Samsen rd in KSR area.

I think they sell just above 30,000 magazines a month in thailand, hong kong and singapore.

It might be around that, or maybe a little lower. Elle magazine probably sells around 50,000 copies a month in Thailand, and is one of the top 3 magazines here in the price 80b and above....

Lips, Thailand Tatler etc (similar niche mags) are all around 20,000 paid circulation or significantly less. Tatler I have heard print like 10,000 copies a month; I could be totally wrong but the person who told me this had a very senior position there a while back.

This farang magazine, I am willing to guess has paid circulation at most here in THailand of 10,000 copies. I can't see it selling an equal amount in the other two markets.... I am guessing more like 10-20,000 total in all 3 countries (still not an insignificant amount na)
