Any guys who hang out in the Khemerat area NE of Ubon, I'm making the annual trip next week for a month, its not our usual time to visit but kids nurseries and work commitments have conspired against me.

Would be great to meet up for a beer on the mekong..unless of course it rains and then we'll try and head of to hua hin or anywhere that's bareable

I never been there, just rode past the turnoff,What's it like, nice little spot on the mekong, or another boring town ?

I have never seen so many unused stop lights in a town. Yes, stop lights. Near the two 7-11's there's a really good khao moo dang stand.

Its a one bank town but great seasonal events, river boat races held annually, tens of thousands or people attend.,increasing number of riverside bars and food, its nothing special to most but its my paradise..

Theres a few expats living in and around Khemarat and we usually get together on Sat arvos for a beer and a yarn at one of the river restaurants. Theres a few of us aussies, a token pom and a few other odds and sods there. I actually living in Ubon city during the week but go back to Khemarat on weekends. Drop us a line when you get settled.
