Government hospital cardiac surgery bill
There are a number of possibilities: 1. Might be stent placement and while the procedure and hospitalizarion is free the family may have to pay the cost of the stent device (if really 70k then likely 2-3 stents). 2. Scheduled on a private basis in order to expedite things especially given the Songkran holidays. There definitely IS a wait list for cardiac surgeries in many public hospitals. And people do die as a result, or get worse outcomes (more permanent damage to cardiac muscle) . The system is overburdened, especially in Bangkok. I have friends who went deeply in debt to pay for bypass surgery at a private hospital recently because the wait for it in govt hospitals in Bangkok was up to 6 months. This was for bypass; stent placement wait time would have been less, but still a wait list for it. 3. Due to not having a referral letter from her registered hospital under the 30 baht scheme. Actually in case of emergency where patient cannot be safely transferred, emergent care can be received in any govt hospital. But cashier will not know if something qualifies as an emergency and will demand payment and yes, will be required in advance. It usually needs a call(s) to the NHSO hotline to resolve this. Which family should certainly try if this is the issue. Last possibility is that whole thing is a scam to borrow money, only OP is in position to know if family realoy does have critically ill relative. In cases like this, any delay can seriously affect the outcome because the heart muscle is not getting enough oxygen and will die. Keeping the patient alive with conservative treatment (medications etc) risks both death and long term disability because even if they survive till sutgical intetvrntion there will be more permanent damage to The heart muscle. -

Nurse Suspended After Refusing to Use Preferred Pronouns for Transgender Sex Offender
It seems the trans box now trumps the ethnic minority box. They really do need to provide us all with the official hierarchy so we know which groups we need to pander to the most. We know who is at the bottom. -

Savannakhet Multi Entry. Change permission to stay
Thank you. If I take option 2 and get the Non-O from HCMC as soon as possible then re enter Thailand and get the 90 day stamp on entry I can exit Thailand on a re-entry permit and re enter within the first 60 days of the stay. If I then apply for the extension it will hopefully be approved within 30 days and I can access my money again. I understand the Non o and application for extension will take a minimum 3 months. I am just hoping to get the process started ASAP instead of waiting till I return from Australia. I understand the re-entry permit does not affect the length of the visa. I can not see how not being in Thailand while I wait for the last 30 days of the visa to come up, will affect the process of applying for the 1 year extension as soon as I return to Thailand, unless somebody knows otherwise. Thank you again for your help.
