Hi guys

Can anyone spare an invite to this site as my login details have not been working and the forgot your password link doesnt seem to send anything to me. However I havent used the account in quite a while

It would really be appreciated

I was same - didn't use for a while and account appeared to be closed. Found them very very controlling - hmmmm not disimilar

I havent used the account in quite a while

How long is quite a while? I believe you have to log on to the site at least once a month to keep your account active, you don't have to download anything, just log on. After that it's closed and as far as I'm aware once your account has been closed you can't open another one.

Taken from their rules:

  • If someone's account is disabled, do not give them an invite to let them back in. Doing so will put your own account in jeopardy

And from their FAQ'S:

When are accounts auto-pruned?

  • Unparked accounts that haven't visited (read: browsed) the site for 38 days (and are over 28 days old) are pruned. Parked accounts are pruned when 112 days have elapsed since the last recorded activity (read: browsed). Seeding activity does NOT count, you must BROWSE the site. Donators with a star (and ONLY donators with a star) are immune to auto-pruning. Power Users and above are also immune. We regularly clean out accounts with very low share ratios that are subject to the Ratio Watch system.

If your account gets pruned, your stats are gone. Don't ask us to retreive them.

Sorry, can't help any more than that.

Don't think there are any invites available right now anyways. They closed down the invites - 20,000 is user limit, 30,000 with invites and sitting with 80,000+ current members - so it might be a while.

Could not have been that important if you have not used it in so long that it got pruned.

I had about 20-30 invites a month or two ago and I see that they have all vanished since then. I've no idea why as I have never given one to anyone.

I signed up on their website without an invite at all, though it was a while ago.

In response to a question asking why invites disappeared

"Yes the site policy has changed. The site initially gave a few invites per each user class but in an attempt to increase the number of users. Gave each user a load more, unfortunately a lot of users gave away/sold their invites to banned users and ingrates. Increasing the work on the volunteer staff. So for the time being all invites have been removed."

Site policy as stated above also prohibits any user from giving an invite to this user. This user would have to get on irc and beg to be readmitted to the site. Of course in a limited user universe, the question is why? If he was not an active user sharing (seeding) then why would he be a good candidate to accept back.
