Need Some Suggestions For Finding A Good Hospital in Bangkok For Surgery

Featured Replies

I have had a lump in the middle of my chest since 2 and a half years back, when I had showed it to a doctor he told me that it was a subaceous cyst. Back then it was pretty tiny and did not bother me at all, however lately I have noticed that it has grown in size (about as big as a 5 bahat coin) and is begining to hurt. The skin on top of it has turned red and there is also hint of foul odor but I can only sense it if I rub a finger over the lump and bring it close to my nose. I think its time I get it excised, can anyone here tell me which all hospitals here are good for such operations plus antibiotic treatments, and how much does it typically cost?

Thanks!

Most of the hospitals are good if you're not worried about being covered by a hospital's liability insurance when things go wrong (that's the reason health care here is so cheap). On the other hand be very selective on the doctor that you decide to see.

If it requires surgery, and at that size suspect it likely does, not sure of cost as I only had one removed that way and was many years ago (and also huge). I did have about 50 smaller such cysts removed a few weeks ago (after several became infected and a week antibiotic treatment) by laser and forceps and that cost 14k.

I had one those removed at public hsp maybe 7 years ago for only B300!

It's such basic surgery, a good clinic can do it. Had another removed last year on my back for B800--at a clinic. Doc assured me he'd done many of these, knew what he was doing. And he did.

One issue is the dressing changing charges. They'll want to change your dressing every day for 2 weeks and that drives up the cost. Maybe you just do it yourself. After the wound has stopped draining, though, you can put on a tegaderm dressing http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/nexcare-tegaderm-waterproof-transparent-dressing/ID=prod3347866-product, which you can find at Savedrug (Lotus, or malls) or Fascino's, and dispense w/ the changing. I love that stuff!
