Featured Replies

Hi.

Been looking for while but can'r find any.

Any idea where I can get large sheets of brown wrapping paper?

Cheers

Go to ikea buy something & wrap it as thick as you like in brown paper

This would work if you live in Bangkok.

There's no Ikea on Koh Samui.

Do they sell it at the Post Office Rob?

They seem to sell everything else for sending parcels

Post office used to sell it though it was pretty flimsy.

How about the car paint sprayers in the soi where you live, or ferang painters in the building lark?

Don't know about Samui but in BKK and Pattaya there always seems to be a shop very near to the Post Office that will wrap and package stuff and they have brown paper and will use a couple sheets if you want thicker. No doubt they would sell the paper to you. I went to the post office a few weeks back for a mailing tube and they sent me to a shop near by. Also some of the shop front hardware shops also sell it sometimes.

Good thought - thanks.

There is a copy shop not too far away - if the PO doesn't have any I'll have a look in there.

WHY..?? Such has never been required for mailing..?? However, try B2S, or any other stationary shop.

Re-mailing?

A 30-inch long, 2inch-thick piece of walnut?

Just the ones that spring to mind.

What is B2S?

My wife is pretty sure they have it in the stationery shop on the Main Street in Nathon, opposite 7-11 near the fresh market, has it.If I get chance in the next couple of days I will check.

Any Post Office has it, sheets over 1 Metre square - plus very sturdy Boxes to ship stuff.

GLUM . . . not so! Not in Mae Nam. Not in Chaweng.

Not in the copy shop near the Mae Nam PO either.

Off to Nathon, I reckon . . .

If you are going to Nathon - you might try the department store. Upstairs to the right. They had quite a bit of stationery the last time that I was there (sometime in this century!)

or - head towards Zazen from Maenam. LHS

After the senior school - a school supplies shop. Before you get to Zazen

Another store you might try is just up Soi 5 on the left side.... (before the Turn to the temple)

Skool supplies and all kinds of bits and bobs!wink.png

Buy a couple of large A4 envelopes, open them up and tape them together to form a single large sheet. Buy a sheet of any paper and paint it brown. Wrap the parcel in newspaper before covering it in brown tape.

There are lots of alternatives. Where there is a will there is a William.

Ahhhh.

Finally picked some up - thanks for all your help and suggestions.

Not quite what I was expecting - not exactly that nice brown Kraft paper with the stripey finish and one side glossy and the other side dull . . .

But a sturdy kind of ethnic wood-pulp dense poster-type paper, perfect for the job.

And the big plus is that it comes in sheets (7 baht each) that are 36" x 48".

This from the stationery/school shop near Zazen. I didn't try any of the others, as this brought me to a halt.

Thanks everyone . . .
