The times I've been through Swampy I've changed currency at the counter between immigration & bag collection. Recently I've been told that counter is gone & the exchange has to be done in the 'public' area.

Could anyone confirm if this is correct?

No the exchange counters are still there .

When I went through recently they were still all there.

Crappy exchange rate though, 2.5 Baht/Euro (almost 7% at the time) less then the official rate if I'm not mistaken. And they have a big sign saying that the boots from the different banks will have the exact same rate! At least they save you the hassle of shopping around to check the rates

So don't change more then absolutely needed.

Thanks for that to both. That rate is still far better than changing it in AU - average is over 5B per 1AUD difference.
