PHUKET: -- Security in the government quarter of Phuket Town is being stepped up following the bombing on Thursday (August 1) at the offices of the Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (OrBorJor)

After meeting with police and other officials yesterday (August 2) Governor Maitree Intusut said, “The bomb yesterday didn’t cause wide-ranging damage or affect organizations [other than the OrBorJor]. It was not a powerful bomb. (Earlier story here.)

“We will increase security checks in the area around provincial hall, and more security guards will be on duty. After 6pm, no one without authority will be allowed into the grounds of Provincial Hall or other significant government buildings. Also security checks will be carried out every couple of hours.

“I can’t tell you any more about the bomb, as the investigation is still ongoing.”

Could the bomb have had something to do with those unfortunate "black" taxi's

not geting a place in the airport queue, or maybe someone irate at the new buses?

So many home grown possibilities. Where to begin?
