Is 7 August official holiday this year? Can't order anything from Pantip online

I was trying to get a new cpu/mobo this afternoon. MDComputer online : Phone not responding. Nobody answers. Compute&More seems not much interested in calling me back. JiB Computer (jib.co.th) online ordering is not answering, I tried more than 5 numbers.

Then I checked if today is an official Thai public holiday, nope. Then I realized it is half day holiday in Muslim countries today and tomorrow they'll get 3-4 days Ramadan holiday. This is the only explanation I can come up with. Since when Thailand cares about Muslim religious holidays? How many percent of IT workers are muslim in Bangkok? As for Thai logic, free holiday is something good right? More time to sleep, shopping, drinking for them.

Its just I'm having hard time to understand why Thais so eager to close their business (big and small companies) in a holiday which changes every year (arabic moon calendar eh?) and doesn't relate to them at all.

Huge number of assumptions & probably all wrong. However, the Thai monarch has always extended Royal patronage and support to Thai Muslims as He has done to people of other religious faiths;. the practice of the Islamic faith is also protected by the Thai constitution.

Because they run by Muslim people? It just can't be concidence.

Oh, btw, today was half day holiday, starting from tomorrow there will be 3 full days holiday in Muslim countries.

I was at Pantip today and everything open all afternoon.

Muslims won't affect business (err, money making) in Thailand.
