I'm in the need of a dental implant and my current dentist, which is good mind you, seems possibly higher than I could find elsewhere.

So I would like to hear from some of you on recent implant service.

I would like to hear the price you paid and how well the service and satisfaction was.

As previously mentioned I had two implants done in CM plus a sinus lift. One implant failed as did the lift, the latter I had fixed back in Oz by a doctor/dentist specialist.

That was in Thapae Rd, he also said that he repairs a lot of botched Thai dentistry and that the implants were a substandard titanium alloy of a design he didn't recognize.

He suggested getting the implants done in Oz and the crowns, root canals etc done in Thailand.

No doubt there are good places but my experience has never been very good at several dentists. So go by referral from friends probably best. Cheers...

I use Elite Smile and I quite like them, though I haven't had implants.

They too have a big sign outside saying implants 36,000 Baht, but that doesn't include the crown and the real cost is minimum 45,000 Baht

Approximately 60000 bath each, for including other needed procedure that come with the implant e.g. bone regeneration and etc.. But teeth from Korean can be cheaper. This is the standard price worldwide. The doctor is very serious about what he is doing and I received high standard practice.

I had one done some 10 yrs ago at cm dental hospital just past cm computer on superhighway same side of road. Dr jarunee did it . German schooled. My dentist said that the high cost of implants is in part due to the fact that the hardware is imported. She said that they are expecting a Thai company to produce what's needed either independently or under license in the next year or so and that the price will come down.

Some good questions for people to ask first.

The UCLA credential is a 1 year master's level course in implantology. Another implant training center in Thailand is at Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok with Frankfurt University Germany. The implants you find in Thailand are mainly Osstem, AstraTech, Intralock, Zimmer, Straumann. There is a new Thai Implant Brand on the market but there does not appear to be much literature on it because it is really new. Ask the dentist about the implant brand they use and make sure the brand is also carried in your home country, if you need maintenance, chances are you can find a home/local dentist who has the tools to fix it. Implant base price starts at 46,000 THB for implant incl. crown on the implant in Chiang Mai, this price is listed on chiangmaidentist.com - the price can go higher depending on the brand and the type of crown.

The implant for 36,000 at Elite Smile is sourced from Korea. That is not a criticism just information.

I am looking to get an implant also, I would avoid elite smile. I have heard rave reviews, but I have had terrible experiences there. They botched a simple filling, then they botched the repair (which I had to pay for), they left me in severe pain for a few weeks (take paracetemol with a swollen face and severe pain). Then, they made me schedule a root canal. I visited another dentist and no root canal was needed, and I am fine now. I will NOT be going back to elitesmile under any circumstances. This post will probably get deleted, but its worth knowing they are very capable of messing up, badly.
