Video gaming reverses cognitive decline in old age

Featured Replies

...study found that 60-year-olds who played a custom-designed video game for 12 hours over the course of a month improved their multitasking abilities to levels better than those achieved by 20-year-olds playing the game for the first time.

This report reversed my antipathy against video games, not in general, because most are dreadful killer stories.

This specific video, which was not used for the study game is not on the market , yet.

Question

are you using any video game which seems to have such brain stimulating effect on you? Title?

Theer are a number of game programs oput there to reverse/slow cognitive decline. A key ferature is variation, i.e. playing the same game over and ver will nto do the trick. Same is true of off-line puzzles.

there are companies that sell subscriptions to on-line programs like this. Haven't pursued it, but have thought of it. My father had Alzheimers, so I'm a bit paranoid at any sign of cognitive decline ....

In this study, not just any video gaming but "custom-designed."
