I need to replace my old one and have just been looking in Paragon, but I'm having trouble finding one... I want: region free, digital out and plays Divx.

That's it really. Don't want speakers, as I have a 5.1 at home already. Price isn't too much of a problem, doesn't have to be a "famous" make.

I'd get a Coby brand - plays literally everything and they are cheap.

Soken 571, Its actually an Oppo DVD Player rebranded for the Thai marketplace - Plays everything and upscales over DVI.

Is the 571 still made? I can't find it anyway. Can find only one soken that does divx, can't recall the name, it's about 4990B.

Got a DV-383-S from Pioneer, bought it at Central, plays almost anything. I don't really get what is the difference with the DV-380-S.

Dunno if the Soken is still made, I have 5 waiting for me at the local Soken dealer, just havent picked them up yet - PM me if you want one.

I think the new Soken with HDMI may also be fairly good, Although it seems to have the Chroma Bug and doesnt read some flags properly.
