SAS hero of the mall massacre: Off duty soldier with a handgun saved 100 lives as terrorists ran amok

  • Was having coffee at Westgate mall when it was attacked on Saturday
  • Returned to building a dozen times, despite intense gunfire
  • Sources said the soldier was with the Special Air Service, or SAS
  • Man, who can't be named for security reasons, was pictured with victims.

Those SAS boys don't mess around...

Do you reckon he was in Kenya on Safari?

Special forces go all over the globe to learn stuff. I think if this guy was ''on duty'' he would have had back up and more ammo on his person. Lets see the full story that comes out of this.

Wonder how Piers Morgan will respond to the news of the SAS Soldier and his brave heroics - honest question.

It is not a secret that the British Army have a number of bases in Kenya and do in fact train the Kenyan military, these are called British Army Training Teams (BATTs). It is also not a secret that in their ranks they have a number of close to retirement SAS members., It is also known that these BATTs members whilst out of camp and off duty, i.e. a days shopping/relaxing in Nairobi, are legally allowed to carry a hand gun. This is possibly the scenario here, SAS chappie enjoying a private quiet coffee on a day off, when the world ignites around him, and he bravely reacted

And there's also a slightly better than even chance that squadron members have been quietly assisting the Kenyans in dealing with their Al Shabab problem, but I agree, this would be someone popping in to buy a couple of DVDs and chat up some fanny.

These people were animals:

Father says wife and daughter, 9, were killed by 'animals'
  • Defence Secretary Philip Hammond says British death toll could still rise
  • Two more British victims identified as Warwickshire mother and daughter
  • Zahira Bawa, 41, and her daughter Jennah, 9, were from Leamington Spa
  • British architect Ross Langdon and his partner Elif Yavuz also shot dead
  • Harvard graduate Yavuz was pregnant before Saturday's attack in Nairobi

The father of an eight-year-old British girl last night told of the ‘heart stopping’ moment he learned his Muslim daughter and wife had been killed by terrorists who laid siege to a shopping mall in Kenya.

Louis Bawa, 43, said his nine-year-old daughter Jennah and Kenyan-born wife Zahira, 41, were killed in Nairobi on Saturday by ‘animals’, who were using ‘religion as an excuse to kill people’.

The three-day siege appeared close to an end last night, when Kenyan police said they had regained control of the Westgate mall, hours after it emerged more than 60 people had been killed

Is there a connection between this attack and the fact that "Westgate" is an offshoot of "Westfield" in Australia? Westfield was co-founded by Jewish/Australian Businessman Frank LOWY.

Just hope the NUTTERS haven't decided to target any more of his properties.

Or perhaps it shows that extremists don't really care who they kill.

NAIROBI MALL HOSTAGE
Hostages alive in Kenya mall, militants claim Agencies

NAIROBI: -- The militant group that attacked a Nairobi mall and killed at least 60 people says it is still holding hostages alive inside and that its fighters are "still holding their ground".

The Twitter messages posted Tuesday by the alQaeda-linked rebel group al Shabab came after Kenyan government assurances of success in the fourth day of the standoff.

AlShabab says the hostages "are still alive, looking quite disconcerted but, nevertheless, alive".

A security expert with contacts inside said on Monday night there were at least 30 hostages when the assault began Saturday and at least 10 were believed to be still inside the upscale mall. Officials did not give a figure, saying only that "most" hostages had been released.

Sporadic gunfire could be heard from the building yesterday as government forces pressed on inside.

At least 62 shoppers and staff have been killed and close to 200 wounded in the siege, and fears are high the toll may yet rise.

Judges at the Haguebased ICC on Monday adjourned for a week Kenyan Vice President William Ruto's crimes against humanity trial for violence following a disputed 2007 election so he could deal with the hostage crisis.

The ICC is the world's only independent, permanent tribunal for war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity.

Westfield Group don't have any properties in Africa. Westgate is owned by Israeli business interests

I don't think that's the reason for it being targeted. It's simply a soft target guaranteed to get them a few white deaths and the ensuing global headlines.

Let's face it, if all they killed were Kenyans or Somalis, it probably would barely scrape onto page 1.

This was a publicity attack as much as anything.

Despite the fact that the attack initially began nearly an Israeli-owned coffee shop within the mall and several Israelis escaped the assault, it doesn’t appear that this was connected to the attackers' motivations. “This time, the story is not about Israel,” a spokeswoman for the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the New York Times.

It wasn't an attack on Israel. It was an attack on Kenyan interests in retaliation for their actions in Somalia.

It really is a powerful form of brainwashing. I remember many Americans calling the 9/11 hijackers "cowards".

I don't think someone sitting in front of an aircraft and flying it into a building is lacking cowardice.

This gap in understanding is what makes fighting these automatons so difficult.

Desperate, frustrated people with no means to fight "fair".

Here are some powerful photos of the mall shooting in Nairobi – there’s too many for me to post and I’m sure every one of them are copywrited so I’ll just pass the link on.

Check out how much gun sense the Kenyan security forces have when you do view the pictures – not a single finger on the trigger.

ever heard about "friendly fire"

Brainwashing - this is the purpose of all religions. Just that while some religions teach compassion and living in harmony with other people, some happen to teach hate and violence. Not pointing any fingers....

You are wrong. All religions are basicly the same. The problem is with the fundamentalist's who twist the message to serve their agenda.Problem in everyreligion. I'm protestant ,and still I feel muslims have a lot catching up to do,to reach christianity's body count.

I don't have a problem with anyone joining in the fight as long as they double tap every one of these scum before they kill anyone else, or waterboard the shit out of them afterwards so they can double tap some more.

There will be no waterboarding...coz there will be no survivors if you know what I mean..

And that doesn't bother me either as long as they bury each one with a mouthful of pork pie...

This does not excuse the terrible murders in Narobi, but rather than make childish comments, how about trying to understand the rise of Islamic extremism in Somali. A good article outlining the circumstance and contributing factors, with yet again Western and Saudi interference.

"a united, stable and Islamic country was the last thing Ethiopia wanted on its doorstep. So it invaded in the name of driving out fundamentalism, persuading Britain and the United States to back their key ally in the region. The incursion was disastrous, with Somalia spiralling back out of control, while grotesque human rights abuses boosted the militant cause. The biggest beneficiary was the security wing of the courts movement, al-Shabaab, which soon had control of much of Mogadishu and great swathes of the country"
