I wouldn't want to be a hangman or executioner because justice could be flawed and you might kill innocent people, however, in war, it is kill or be killed, so you don't have much choice.

Bizarre subject as usual. No, regarding the executioner, UG has a very valid point. Been to war but was fortunate not to 'mow someone down'. Have found myself sitting out in the jungle with an M-16 in my hand or in a bunker with an M-60 on more then one occasion reflecting what would I do if the time came. I just can't answer that truthfully, though I "believe" I would have done the right thing if that time came. You really can never know until that defining moment arrives.

I am agreeing somewhat with Tywais in that you never really know until there and forced to make the decision. Those with training I feel can at least have a pretty good idea that they will be able to. So, I really can't say, but I think I would be somewhat prepared if such a thing were to happen. I know I have prepare for years to kill the person that breaks into my home or messes with my family. Not quite the same as combat, but as close as I can get.

In all honesty - No, no, no no! The only way I could kill someone was if they threatened to take my life in violence. In that case, I would battle to the end.... I have always felt that way even though I am a very passive/ silently aggressive female (Aries/ Dragon). Threaten my life existence and be prepared to die!
