Yupparaj Wittayalai School-School Holidays

Featured Replies

Has any TV reader / poster any experience with regards to Yupparaj Wittayalai School.

I had been asking my stepson (lives with me) when your holidays are "dates of last day of school and first day back"

For 6 weeks his stock answer has been 'they have not told us yet'

As most parents who have a Thai child "pre-school, primary, or, high school" whether you are the biological parent or the person who

has taken the responsibility of supporting etc., the child, the schooling system here is not always as we know it 'back home'

So, I wrote them an email and guess what 'no reply' so I telephoned the school myself and finally got the information that I had been seeking.

I finally got the info 2 days ago and the holidays start on Tuesday 01 October.

I still haven't found out when (or even if) the students have been told.

So it would be nice to know when other parents were notified when the holidays commence and when school resumes.

I should in concluding, say that I am not as yet blaming the school.

Yupparaj is a big school, it was the first state school in the north, is it a good school "or is it amongst the worst"

I have my own opinion on this.

All the schools are pretty useless when it comes to setting dates for things like holidays. It's partly not their fault because the government often doesn't set its dates until the last minute or steps in and tells them that they have to close for a week to keep the roads clear for VIPs as happened for the ASEAN Water Conference a while ago. My son's school got three days warning for that but usually they are better organised for things like regular holidays.
