webfact Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Rouhani orders Iran’s government to review resuming direct flights to USTEHRAN, October 1. (ITAR-TASS). Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani ordered the government to review the possibility of resuming direct flights between Iran and the United States. This was reported on Tuesday by Mehr news agency. The news agency quoted advisor to the Iranian president Akbar Torkan as saying that the establishing of direct flights between Tehran and New York would allow "easing the problems of Iranians living in the United States and to visit relatives in Iran from time to time".At present, the United States is home to about a million immigrants from Iran. Flights between the two countries were interrupted shortly after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979.Source: http://www.itar-tass.com/c154/897001.html-- ITAR-TASS 2013-10-01
Scott Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Just as the Australian gov't starts to tackle the problem of boat arrivals, the US considers letting them come by plane.
wildoates Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 What building are they going to aim at???LOL 1
folium Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Let's hope there is no rerun of the Vincennes 1988 Iran Air "blunder" that led to almost 300 civilian deaths and probably the subsequent Lockerbie bombing..... 2
NeverSure Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 It's not so much having direct bombs flights from Iran. It's the cost of having a couple of fighter jets escort them in and out each time.
phitsanulokjohn Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 This new Iranian president Rouhani looks set to become the United States greatest arse licker since pre revoloution days in 79.I hope it has a nice flavour.
Ulysses G. Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Don't worry, he plans to get a nuclear arsenal out of it.
phitsanulokjohn Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Don't worry, he plans to get a nuclear arsenal out of it. Better than a nuclear chelsea i suppose.

uptheos Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 How can you trust or deal with anyone whose government has just legalised rape / paedophiia? http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/26/iran-lawmakers-men-wed-adopted-daughters
Chicog Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 How can you trust or deal with anyone whose government has just legalised rape / paedophiia? http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/26/iran-lawmakers-men-wed-adopted-daughters Not sure who's doing the leg pulling here, the Grauniad or Iran: Parliamentarians in Iran have passed a bill to protect the rights of children which includes a clause that allows a man to marry his adopted daughter and while she is as young as 13 years.
Chicog Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has endorsed overtures to the US made last month by President Hassan Rouhani in New York. "We support the diplomatic initiative of the government and attach importance to its activities in this trip," he said on his website. But he added that some of what had occurred "was not appropriate". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-24410422
Sing_Sling Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 It's not so much having direct bombs flights from Iran. It's the cost of having a couple of fighter jets escort them in and out each time. Oh, I don't think there's much of a problem with that . . .
Chicog Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 It would seem not everyone trusts Iran's new found friendliness.... The head of Iran’s cyber warfare programme has been shot dead, triggering further accusations that outside powers are carrying out targeted assassinations of key figures in the country’s security apparatus. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iran/10350285/Iranian-cyber-warfare-commander-shot-dead-in-suspected-assassination.html
