Can somebody tell me the best coverage/service for an iPad in the Khemmarat area. I am 10 kms from the town and I need to now what sim i should be buying for the iPad.

I use a "3G' AIS dongle when using the internet , I don't think it 3G at all, however when using an iPad will that work in the same way...slow?

I would say that it would be the same as its basically still using the internet. Welcome to living/visiting in the sticks

I would say the IPad will be faster than the dongle connected to a PC.

You probably are on 2G edge with it. You could upgrade to 3G .

I am using a gadget I got from AIS called a "Pocket WiFi" that works as an wireless access point with 3G. I got it to have internet for my grand daughters free tablet from gov.

But now have 3 tablets that can be online at the same time (using one now). It works good on 3G but gets a little slow when it goes over to 2G.

I get unlimited usage for 399 baht a month prepay.

I went with AIS because when we go up to the village (near Trakan) that is all there is.

AIS website shows 3G is available in Khemarat.
