Telekinetic Coffee Shop Surprise (in NYC)

Featured Replies

I apologize in advance if this is not the appropriate forum for the following Youtube link but the video is so funny that I wanted to post it if no one else has done it yet.

It's a promo for the remake of the film Carrie, a book written by Stephen King. It was shot in a New York City cafe using special effects that shocked the unsuspecting patrons. Their reactions are hilarious

I'm not sure how funny it was, but it was certainly interesting.

I found the video funny because the situation was totally unrealistic--it wasn't a prank that involved a bomb or gun or anything that occurs normally. The terror was caused by being witness to an extraordinary event rather than being personally threatened. And that it involved New Yorkers (which I guess includes me--my first 19 years were spent there) who are usually cynical and jaded, made it more humorous. I wouldn't be surprised if most of those terrified patrons were very disappointed when they discovered the situation was contrived rather than exceptional.
