Hi Gang

Have recently purchased a Thookjung phone card for calls to Australia.

Dialled 02 696 2210 (Eng) and then insert PIN number etc.

The last call to Oz that I made cut out and my AIS balance had been

reduced from 75 Baht to nil.

The AIS help line at this moment haven't been much help.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I used a different phone card (CAT) in the past so might have to

switch back to that one.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Rates are exclusive of connection fees from fixed lines or mobile phones through 02-696-2209 and 02-696-2210

Other calling cards offer free access and/or call-back.

Thanks for that.

Still, something doesn't seem right.

I'm sure they would go out of business if they

ate through existing credit like that.

I'll keep investigating.

I'm assuming that you are not experiencing any data leak issues: say if your phone is data-capable and you are paying 1.07 baht/min. for the data connection.

Your SIM has a default voice call charge per minute, which might range from 1 to 2 baht /min. so you could have burned through 75 baht in 30 minutes or less, as this calling card does not provide free access.

Again, there are plenty of local calling cards which offer FREE local access and/or have a call-back feature. We do not pay for incoming calls here so call-back is also "free".

As you know more details re: your SIM, promotion/plan, call duration, etc., you are in a better position to determine if something doesn't seem right.

Thanks for that mate.

I have a pretty basic phone with no internet connection.

To be honest, I'm not that savvy when it comes to phones.

Just use mine for calls.

Looks like I might go back to the CAT phone card.

Thanks again for your advice.

when you call from your mobile to phone card's access # 02xxxx, you will have to pay local airtime charge. "You to 02xxx " + "calling card # to oversea". Use callback , that will save your local airtime.

The card I'm using AFAIK doesn't have a callback function.

Like I said, will stick to CAT phone cards.

I had a similar problem with my operator. I solved it this way: I called Support and complained. and I got the money back with a bonus. be bold, telephone operators often concede customers. If it is a question about money. If you say that you tried different calling cards and have the same problem, then just buy a Skype account for calls :).
