Not funny= 1 jaw joint creaking

Featured Replies

One so-called temporomandibular joint is creaking, so load that others hear it. Rather irritating when eating in company.

Any one with similar experience?

It is a difficult problem to resolve.

Consultation with a dentist or maxillofacial surgeon would be advised.

Maybe a few facial massages could solve the problem?

well thanks, learned something new = maxillofacial , might consider surgery as the last option, massage more appealing. I never noticed how loud is was and cannot say when it started, like snoring you don't notice yourself until it disturbs others. Even my favorite health source is silent on that one http://www.mayoclinic.org/tmj/

Not "silent" I think "guarded" is the word to use ! smile.png

The temporomandibular joint has a small cartilage structure similar to a knee; sometimes this deteriorates and may cause the clicking sound.

Maxillofacial surgeons are best at dealing with this.
