Bumrungrad hospital

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Is bumrungrad the best hospital in Thailand for patient care and service? Need laparoscopy and cosmetic top and bottom eyes doing, who's the best surgeon there to do these?

Thanks

Good 'nuff. Search in the forum for recommended docs. The Bummie website has a listing of docs and their creds.

Always choose the doctor, not the hospital.

What is the laparoscopy for? as you are elsewhere posting about bromocriptine I am suspecting perhaps endometriosis. If so, then you need a doctor specilizing in that. Please confirm and I will recommend soemone.

For the bleph (eyes), Dr. Amorn Poomee at Bumrungrad is probably the very best, but he also costs more than others. Dr. Greechart at Yanhee would also be an option.

Thanks for the replies a laparoscopy is to look at my ovaries tubes etc etc with a camera due to pain, but kind of scared just in case they don't sew me back up together and leave nasty scars on my stomach, which I really don't want.... The tablets you mentioned are for my prolactin levels of the purity gland because they are sky high and need to get them lower as I am infertilty at this present moment and hopefully once taken them I will be on the mend, Just finding it all very stressful at the minute, because I want prices from the hospitals and know what I need doing... As I haven't arrived in Bangkok yet and want to be organised so I'm not going round hospitals or the prices are sky high... But then again I surpose you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the replies :-)

Has the OP considered having this fairly routine procedure undertaken in her home country ?

There she will not have to manage the language barrier in addition to other stresses.

If the OP has already been diagnosed as having abnormal prolactin levels I would expect her to have already received advise about further investigation and treatment.

I have tryed for years to get it resolved in my own country but they are useless and just chuck you from pillar to post and not get anything sorted because they don't have the money like they use to and the nhs are not doing anything ... Finally after 5 years they have suggested this after millions of appointments but there is a massive waiting list and can't wait any longer as its quite serious and could also give me health problems later on in life if its not resolved quickly.... And can't afford to pay English prices to go private in the UK... I have also travelled a lot in Thailand before so know the place quite well...

So sorry you have had to suffer " millions of appointments" ! smile.png

What you need to do rather than seek to approach this problem piece -meal is to bring a full summery of your medical history together with relevant test results and make an appointment with a Gynaecologist and or an Endocrinologist.

It would also help if you were to restrict your posts to one inclusive thread.

Thank you very much I've tryed phoning UK for medical files because I'm in a completely different county not thailand at the minute and they won't release them to me, so have to start the process from scratch...

Staring from scratch without any previous medical records means just that !

It does mean you need to see a gyn or endocrinologist and follow the advise that will be given.

It also means that all the previous investigations will have to be repeated.

A logical path is the one to follow.

Edit

You should also be prepared for significant expenditure especially in relation to laproscopic surgery and CT

/MRI scans involving the use of contrast.

To keep things simple let's limit this thread to the cosmetic surgery and the other thread (in which I merged several) to what very much sounds like your endometriosis.

Though whether you will be able to afford cosmetic surgery and also at more or less the same time pay out of pocket for what are comparatively costly diagnostic tests and possibly equally costly treatment is another matter.

Thanks a lot for your help all, and yes I can afford everything done as I've been quoted from bumrungrad hospital today and its not as badly priced as I first thought it would of been.... so glad I've got it all sorted now. Thanks for your replies :-)
