Different immigration officers probably.

Exactly. I have had officers make me go outside to copy an entry stamp maybe 3 years old. Other officers have been extremely helpful and made a copy for me, using the office copy machine.

And yeah I was dressed polite and didn't rgue with them...

The weird thing is that in my experience I have found the copy policies at Jomtien EXTREMELY predictable. One year I did forget a required copy by accident and the officer made a copy for me (I was a bit shocked). The thing is I do take the trouble to learn exactly what is required and supply exactly that and never one page more. Some people might not want to bother thinking about that. Based on my personal experience at Jomtien, I don't plan on doing anything differently unless there is strong evidence there is an actual change (as I thought the PCEC website might be). OK, it's not a big deal either way making extra copies except for the waste, so don't mean to make a federal case about all this.

Cheers.

I think the answer is...be prepared for anything.

Yes of course but my point is you've got your act together BEFOREHAND, there won't be any additional requests. I don't see the point in suggesting everyone copy extra pages that generally won't be required.

I never suggested people copy every page in their passport. Just be prepared and don't over plan this. OK?

I didn't say you did. I still think if you show up with the exact required pages at Jomtien (see the link I supplied), and I do NOT believe old extension stamps (at least for the same passport) are needed it's highly probable that your application will be accepted as complete. My opinion and my experience. Cheers.

Agreed. I started copying my entire passport when I lived in BKK and used the old office at Suan Plu. Pattaya only asked me for the most recent entry and extension stamps, first page and arrival card.

This year I handed those copies to the lady collection the documents, paid for the visa, then went for the final review. The supervisor first asked me for a copy of all my transfer stamps, which I had, then my 90 day O visa from the USA (my consecutive series of renewals was broken when I returned to the US for one year and my extension expired)

I agree, I just want to know what is required, but my experience is that requirements vary from officer to officer and office to office. I only give the latest stamps and make them ask me for additional copies.

So I think better to copy my entire passport for around 20 baht and be prepared.

My goal is to have a 1 mm thick document extension some day smile.png

I go in every time with the same papers. They just seem to come up with some reason to go and get another copy of something. This is what is being posted by many on this thread and seems to be their experience also. You should know by now, TiT. Expect the unexpected.

Perhaps but this thread was more about current granular details at Jomtien which I think if most people learn and follow they can present COMPLETE applications, nothing more nothing less. without any pushback.

I agree shocks can happen but I think they happen not so much to people who learn the current enforcement policies and come with complete applications ... at Jomtien.

So while some of these "surprises" may be TIT, a good portion are without doubt user error, people not knowing what constitutes a current complete application.

One year there was a bizarre shock. They demanded that I write out TWO application forms by hand and there were reports they were doing that for awhile, and then stopped. Copy not accepted. It was really quite odd partly because by writing out two forms there could be inconsistencies between the two versions which nobody seemed to be checking for. So yes I agree, you never know 100 percent.
