meshing visa runs with proof of onward travel and changeable flights

Featured Replies

Hello. Is this the correct way of meshing visa runs with proof of onward travel and changeable flights? (I am Canadian and so qualify for 30 day visa exempt. I have left it too late to apply for a tourist visa)

1) Book flight into and out of Thailand with a 30 day stay, ensure that there is not a large penalty for changing dates

2) Arrive in Thailand and ask for 30 day visa exempt permit

3) Go on visa run before it is too late to change dates on my departure ticket

4) Ask for 15 day land entry permit

5) Change date of departure ticket back another 15 days

6) Repeat as needed (I would need to do this 1-3 times depending how long I want to stay)

It seems to me like even if I find a airline that gives me a good deal on changing dates, this is still going to add up. Would it be cheaper to do a air visa run if I know I want 2 months?

Does anyone know of an airline that offers a cheap solution?

Is there a better way?

I have good news for you. You now will get 30 days at a border crossing because you are Canadian. The rules just changed.

Why don't you check for a one way onward ticket to a nearby country. Check airasia.com.

You might find one so cheap you could toss it in the trash when compared to the additional cost for a changeable return ticket.
