Sick Building Syndrome - SBS

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Has anyone heard of the Sick Building Syndrome?. I think the building I live in makes me sick. Sore throat, inflamed tonsil, congestion, light fever and lack of energy are recurrent symptoms when I live in my apartment. As soon as I move out, things go back to normal after a week or two and I am my old self again. This condo is new. I have no carpet, it's well ventilated, no molds no humidity. Anybody has a clue?

Thanks for your time and help.

Talk with other tenants and see if they have the same problems or not would be my first step.

If you live anywhere near Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueng then for sure the pollution will get you. For the first time in many years I really noticed the clean air when I came home to Nakhon Sawan, having spent a week in BKK.

I live in Hua Hin Ko Takiab. Not a lot of pollution out there. When I move out I go BKK, not exactly the center of clean air. Yet I feel better in BKK. Go figure. I did some research and I think it has to do with mold toxin. Building is new, not very dry maybe. I noticed molded paint around a telephone plug in the living room. Garages get inundated when raining hard. I suspect mold toxin being responsible. Now that we are entering "dry" season it will be interesting to see if I still get affected.

Thanks a lot guys for your answers.
