Schengen Visa - Can we travel the day before it is valid?

My wife has a Schengen Visa valid from the 28th November 2013, would she be allowed to fly from Bangkok on the 27th November to arrive in Spain on the 28th? I have a slight concern that she may be refused boarding if the visa is not valid on the day of travel.

I am considering flying either with Turkish Airlines connecting in Istanbul on the 28th or Air France connecting in Paris on the 28th. I am guessing the Turkish airlines flight would be a safe bet as Thai nationals do not need Visa's to go there anyway.

In my opinion the visa is only required to be valid by the 28th when you enter the country which it will be.

You'll be in transit when it becomes live.

I can't see a problem but why not ask the airline?

So long as when you land and go to immigration on the date your visa is valid you will be ok. My gf left the day before and arrived at 7:20am next day which was when visa was valid.
