Which Internet Browser Do You Use?...Some Browser Stats

Recommended Posts

I just tried it with Chrome and IE and couldn't reach it...then tried Chrome and IE via VPN (a U.S. IP address) and got the same negative result. I'm on a True cable plan.

Still talking about the kickasstorrents site?

The dns does not resolve at all, at least on ipv4. Whois information lacks ISP ip-range. I tried from Thailand and from Singapore.

I guess the one who have it working with IE have got an extra passenger (extension or virus) with IE, which resolves the name to ip without contacting the defined name servers.. That's a point I would be very worried about the browser behavior.

It's a .to site not a .com site.

Well, that explains the dns :)

Then the different behavior of different browsers could be based on the same mistake. The .to address comes from the IE browsing history, but as it lacks on the new browser, user accidentially writes .com, or let the browser to add the .com to the end of the address.

Does it matter what OP system you are using?

I'm still on XP and using FireFox ...

It does to me.

I need Vista and 32 bit for a major engineering program. Don't know why it has never been updated but it's still way ahead of anything in the same field.

I'm just too lo-tech to know how to partition the hard drive.

After that the browser is up to you, but I prefer Chrome.
