And now it's full-time.

Same scenario as the Rugby League match against England yesterday.

Never ever give up.

It's only a game Humph.....

If you tried to takes Mossy's Rich Tea Biscuits and Tetley Tea Bags away from him.

Then sparks would fly.

This wan't 'only a game' Thaddy.

As with so many rugby matches it was a microcosm of life as I know it - a struggle to dominate one's surroundings, impose one's personality on the opposition and emerge victorious at the end of a titanic episode of life.

In this particular match (and match it was - two very equal teams opposing each other) the Irish gradually took control of the first half, whilst the Kiwis fought to keep level. Then in the second half the Kiwis forced their personality on to the match, and the Irish came back at them time and again to seize the lead. In the last minutes of the match the Kiwis came back again, camped on the Irish line, while the green-shirted defence threw bodies into the line time after time. One mistake within 30 seconds of full-time allowed the Kiwis to keep the ball and, three minutes after the scheduled 80 minutes was over, to cross the Irish line for the points to make a draw. The conversion - the last kick of the match - handed a win to New Zealand.

One of the most physical, yet also a very skilful, match for a long time.

Yep, I know Humph, we had one TV screen on the EPL and one on this game last night, quite a battle.

(I was hoping for Mossy to give me a good ticking off)

I didn't discuss the RL match, 'cos you lot were a touch lucky there.

England should have got the result - two fumbles cost us - one where the guy couldn't hold the ball when touching down over the line, the other, late on, when the winger got an intercept near the England line, but couldn't hold it.

Still a great match. Two in two days that are absolutely memorable. I will sort out recordings of both, because they are worth viewing again. And again.

Thaddy, I trust the EPL (girlie game) was on the smaller screen.

Both the English RL team and the Irish RU team stood up to the guys with the silver fern and would not be dominated, even if the result went against them. I'm sure all the players in both matches were proud to have participated, win or lose.

I thought I would post this Hump

I remember it like yesterday, listen to the noise and then silence.......

As for the game, well, I kinda knew we couldn't hang on, but oh, were we so close!!

In those last few seconds, the old Munster would never have swallowed up the ball, and just played 'stick it up your jumper', for the remaining seconds

It's only a game Humph.....

Crickey Thad, that was some years ago............... A rather strange site and sight, a bunch of scanty clad's hanging around and my good self with a bag of Tetley and rich tea biscuits, you know I never got approached by them. Funny That w00t.gif

He's finally got his own thread.....he'll never reply to my PM's now....! :D

Here's a fine piece of sporting brilliance, even better than the other Reds who knocked 5 past you at home the other day...... it has gotta be better than those over paid peacocks, shouting at the officials..........................wai2.gif

Good match, good finish.

Although the Saints are my nearest local club in the top division, I am black and yellow from head to toe, so can look impartially at the excellent discipline of N'mpton for 40 phases of attack by their opponents. No excuse for a penalty under enormous pressure. But RO'G playing his usual immaculate game.

I need cheering up, any thoughts anyone? Just got turned over by the English in the six nations........................

Thank you that P, very emotive. A reflection on yet another Flight of Earls, of Irish diaspora, this was when my father came over and was busy working on the buses and car factory, not the motorways.

Brilliant-one I haven't seen before

But I'll sing no more now until I have a drink

Cos I am drunk today and I am seldom sober

A handsome rover from town to town

But I am sick now and my days are numbered

So come all you young men and lay me down

I sang this at one of the Scarboro Irish Festivals of yesteryear

More light-hearted.

Swing it Mossy....an better luck than we will have.....your forwards need to kick ass...!

I tried downloading the book on Kindle on holiday, but it is not available.

Stand up and Fight- the day Munster beat the All Blacks

Did a quick search and it seems there is no e-book version available.

Hard copy is available at Book Depository for around £ 8 on-line.

A double cause for celebration, then, with the Six Nations in the bag as well.

Well, it shows that the Good Friday Agreement has some positive sides that are working - but the farmer should learn to separate the sheep from the goats.
