just did my 1000 KM check today (got my bike 10 days ago)

they said Valve Check only at 24,000 KM now. biggrin.png

btw. I saw a few CBF650 tri-color inside the shop getting ready for pick-up... I wonder who are they luck ones biggrin.png

Talked the other day to a friend of a friend who works at the honda factory, he told me they can make up to 200 CB650F per day, but only a few are for thai market... and they have over 1200 bookings for CB650 !!! holy sh1t.

I thought they would only be ready at the end of March.

Isn't there one forum member who will have the first in the world? coffee1.gif

yes, delivery will be at that time, end of March.

and does it bother you if i get one of the first bikes?

Doesn't bother me at all. Just the fact that brfsa2 writes they are getting ready for pick up already.

That's not end of March, it is still January.

too much

That's what I thought before I started riding with guys on litre in-line 4's.

i am a one bike guy and i need flexibility in my life. i need to commute, tour and have track days. cbr650f is offering all these with less compromise than a cbr1000rr with less pain and petrol and for half the price. and as i stated, not convinced on derestriction of cbr1000rr too.

We'll soon change your mind, 55!

BTW when you picking it up?

i had a cbr600rr before not a liter bike but i know what a supersport is.

it does not work for me in bangkok.

i ll get it at the end of march.

it ll be nice!

De-restriction is not a major ordeal.

but ll2 can keep up with litre bikes on his 500,so he may be even quicker than litre bikes on his 650......555

PS. Only joking with you LL

you bet Tanin! once i reach 180 kph, i can keep up with any bikebiggrin.png

honda cbr650f is enough for all my needs here in Thailand as one bike - and a honda wave!

dont want more weight in my life like a 650 k thb cbr1000r.

i am sure, it can be resolved but you are experienced on working on your bikes but for me i dont have much xp plus i dont have time.

besides, shelling out another 60 k thb for this on top plus lots of hassle and you know Thai mechanics.

Honda bigwing do not modify bikes so they do nothing about it but while selling the bikes, they swear it is easy to derestrict which is strange for me.

smile.png & @ 830k about double the US retail of a new CBR1000RR

we have become Thai-a-fied for prices smile.png

PS: I thought the CBR1000RR was like 635k new now?

Was that just a special price from the motor show?

Honda recalls CB500 motorcycles over oil leak

  • — 15 Feb, 2014

The recall notice says that due to “an incorrect procedure during manufacture” of the rocker arm shaft sealing bolt, it may come loose

causing oil to leak from the CB500’s engine. “If the oil leak is undetected or unrepaired, loss of engine oil could cause engine failure or seizure,” the recall notice says.

Owners of all Thai-made CB500 models are being asked to contact their Honda dealer to

arrange for a bike inspection and the bolt replaced “as soon as possible”

.

This was Australia but states "all Thai made"

Have Thailand owners been told to check?

Have Thailand owners been told to check?

No. It's Australia only. It's not an official Honda recall.

Probably due to them being upside-down. smile.png

* edit: I should add that this is a know issue among the CB500 community and all owners should check the rocker arm bolts to see if they are still tight.

This nut one on the left of the engine. Just check it out but if it was fine until some thousand kms, i think no probs still just check and make it tighter.

No it's not my first experience, I guess it's just easier to pump away rather than look at the gauge, bless them!!

Maybe because over inflated tires wear out twice (if not more) as fast? Requiring purchase of new tires more often. But then, I doubt thats the reason.....

I just picked up my CB500F two days ago and I couldn't be happier with it. Perfect for commuting and short trips touring. I also opted for the hard panniers which are easily removable and don't look that bad. I think that it is just about the perfect ride for around town.

Where is the ducati?
