Honda Bigwing Big Bike Fest 21-22 Dec, 2013

Featured Replies

I have been invited to the bigwing two days bike fest at Bonanza track at Kao Yai.

It is open inly for honda big bikes.

It will be good fun as i have never been at Bonanza track and they will also give a workshop on how to fix your bike which is handy.

But most important of all, two japanese track masters from Moriwaki coming from Japan for this event will hold a VIP class for those who have full track gear like suit, boots etc and i have of course and will join that class.

It will be beneficial for me sure! and a lot of fun.

I will be there and thanks honda.

You be there too honda guys!

Sounds like it will be a great day, enjoy!!

Not that I will be able to make it, but is it only for Thai-sold Honda big bikes, or do the grey-imports get an invite too?

Nice! I wish Suzuki would do something similar but if SuzukiThailand were any more laid back, they would be able to travel back in time.

What Honda are you riding, II2?

i ride a cbr500r and i love it.

today new full synthetic oil and new air filter and the bike runs like a champ man. like a new bike.

there is nothing better than a ride after new oil change! full joy!

wish suzuki does something this way. they need to sell more bikes though.

honda cares these kind of events as nowadays thai people look at gatherings and clubs before buying a bike. it is a deciding factor for many.

Race or standard filter. I'm not sure a race filter would like the air quality in LOS.

but you cannot imagine the dirt inside the old one. bike was not breathing enough for sure!

i'll get me PCX dusted off...my missus thinks its big, so that should suffice....
Are we talking about your bike?

That's me :) You need to tell them that if they don't invite customers of the competition, how are they going to try and get these customers to switch brands?

This was exactly what happened at Kaeng Krachan last time (during the Oct track day). They had a few Honda for test rides but only for Honda Big Bike customers. How silly is that? When you want to sell bikes, you target those who don't own Hondas. Existing Honda owners are only interesting in so far as upgrading is concerned. I think some businesses in Thailand are really missing a trick or two (or three).

Yeah right!

When the Thai salesman from SuzukThailand went to Ducati Vipawadi wearing his Suzuki work shirt to ask about the new Hyperstrada, apparently he was given such an unfriendly welcome, he went to buy one from the faraway Rama III branch instead.

Report:

It was a nice event. Better and crowded than i expected.

But it was a one day event not two as i have been mistaken by a staff there.

Event started at 10 but i arrived there around 09.00. Hard to find the track as no signs nothing so it took 20 minutes to find it at Bonanza country club land!

Day started with a small workshop with two japanese champions. They showed us a couple od tricks.

After that track day started. I joined the group of intermediate riders qith suits as others was looking very rookie.

It was all day track day for me but some riders got tired and finished early. There were few riders left doing the track day at 17.00.

Riders were not super advance and all cbr500r so had a chance to see myself clearly and actually was doing fine among 5 best riders there - of course not counting 10 pro riders and japanese champions there or gary johnson isle of man rider!.

Track was OK but some sections were so bad. Also cars race there other days so due to their drifts, track has ruts and very slippery so some curves i just slowed. It is not a good track for bikes imo. Prefer dangerous kaeng krachan more.

Unfortunately they did not offer test ride for new 650 cc hondas but had a chance to test cbr1000rr and vfr 1200 for 5-6 laps. Cbr1000rr is a masterpiece man. Doing much more better on it than cbr500r even in my first lap. It handles like a dream, it is very smooth too especially first gear. Blink of an eye, you are doing 210 kph!

Vfr was heavy but what a bike! Dct is not a problem for a sport ride. Very comfy and smooth as silk. Great accelerationa and low down torque.

Cbr500r handles well and i like to push it full throttle. It is a great bike.

No accidents happened during the event.

But my chain, sprockets and front rear pads - last changed the pads 3000 km before!!! - all finished after 3 recent track days. Changed them all last sunday. I think normal as my bike is at 20.000 km now and i push it so hard all the time.

Also had a fork leak as i rode from bangkok the day before during night and due to some dirt on the fork and as you use all suspension fully on a track, dirt on the fork damaged the seals still honda bigwing will change the fork under guarantee.

Also there were great shops there. Some stuff came from japan and some good prices. Also honda presented all their models. Revved the cbr650f. Nice bike and it is growing on mw nowadays. Excited to get it at the end of February.

Food and drinks were free at the event and also concert was nice.

They had a gymkhana event plus a rally event also which i could not understand.

And it was <deleted>.king cold there man. I really forgot where i am! Thailand or Europe! And unfortunately my dainese suit had a zipper problem, cold screwed me out really!

Overall, it was a great event and they said honda will do more events from now on. Thanks honda.
