Intersection CCTV Footage of M/Cycle Crashes in Udon.

Some very nasty stuff here.

With less than two weeks to go before Christmas, the video may serve as a telling reminder of, amongst other things:

1. Just how vulnerable motorcycle riders are, especially when helmets and protective clothing are not worn.

2. We share the road with certain individuals who have scant regard for their own welfare, and even less regard for the welfare of others.

3. Even if you have right of way in an intersection, the law of nature takes precedence in Thailand. Small gives way to big.

Happy motoring.

Mate ... thanks for sharing.

I earnt my living for a few years as a motorcycle courier.

Watching this was a life experience till the one at 4.20 ... that sickened me .. he's/she's dead.

Rammed at more then 'full speed, into a sign post and then run over by the vehicle ... ermm.gif

We do our best as 'Old Heads' to try and educate the young 'Rev Heads'.

That one bit might, and I say might, drive/ride the message home.

I only watched half of it but in most examples if was the motorcycle who was at fault. They took the risk and the car, truck, didn't see or didn't stop.

A lesson to motorcycle riders to not be stupid and instead be very cautious

As you drive into Khon Kaen from Chum Phae, at the intersection with 2, the cops are running on the huge advertising display a similar video of horrendous motorcycle intersection accidents.

Maybe if they actually enforced some basic traffic laws (helmets, lights, driving on the right side of the road, drunk driving, that kinda stuff) rather than focusing on skimming speeding fines, it might help!

It has to start with education and law enforcement both of which are non existent in this country.

All very true. I don't know where I would start. As has been discussed many many times on TV we all know that there is no real Drivers Ed, and the DL test is a joke at best. But for me the fact that the enforcement is so lax, or corrupt, means there is no incentive for real education.
