My girlfriend sent me an e-mail today that her interview date is for the 27th of June. She is trying to come here to study and she has her i20 ready to go. I checked the US Embassy website to see how long wait times were and for the student it says only 1 day. 22 days for visitors visa.

What did she do wrong if anything???

Thanks!

I suspect if she can not easily afford the school/trip on her own (also that it is a logical study for her) and submitted a sponsor letter that this will have to be investigated; but that is only a guess. I do know that student visas are subject to much closer checks than prior 9/11; and not just for terrorist activity.

This was just by going through the online system. You don't even need to have anything in order to schedule the interview. You just pay that 4000 baht and 400 baht for the PIN. They haven't looked at anything at this point.

It could be that they are scheduling interviews to be within three months of school opening time in the USA as they don't need a visa now if classes don't start until September.
