BANGKOK: -- The Democrat Party's Surat Thani province branch has resolved not to field candidates in the February 2 general election unless political reform has been implemented.

Six MPs from Surat Thani, including Shane and Thani Thaugsuban, announced their decision at the Democracy Monument rally site. The MPs and branch representatives would report to the party their decision not to run in the election unless a new election system is established to ensure a free and fair election.

Democrat Party secretary general Chuti Krairiksh said the party would on Saturday decide whether to boycott the general election.

Mingkwan quits Pheu Thai

Party-list MP Mingkwan Sangsuwan has resigned as a member of the Pheu Thai Party. The resignation has been effective since December 16 and Mingkwan says it is because he wants to drop out of politics for a time.

He added he still has a good relationship with the party executive and would not register with any other party.

Chuwit ponders running

Rak Thailand Party leader Chuwit Kamolvisith has not decided yet on whether the party will field candidates for the February 2 election or boycott the poll.

He said if he fields candidates for the poll his party will be an opposition party.

Chart Pattana prepares

Chart Pattana Party meets today to prepare its run on election day, Prapas Limpaphan, party director, said.

He said his party would not be affected by MPs applying for membership in the Pheu Thai Party because they'll replace resigned members with new blood.

Prapas added that former deputy prime minister Suwat Liptapanlop, de facto leader of the party, had not applied for party membership or indicated if he'll run as party leader. The party meets on December 25 to decide on its leader.

BJT picks election director

The Bhum Jai Thai party has approved executive Saksiam Chidchob as an election director. Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul said if people are to be complete MPs, they must enter an election, and the Bhum Jai Thai Party had a disciplinary law in its constitution.

Chanchai to switch parties

Chanchai Chairungruang, former Chart Pattana party-list MP, will resign from the party and apply for membership of the Pheu Pandin Party this week, a source said. The party will submit 125 party-list candidates and party leader Chaiyong Promwong will run as number 1 party-list MP.

One recommendation they need to get around with reform is that no one is allowed to run for public office with a criminal record , till Thailand address this matter the house of the people can be regarded as a house of contempt and a laughing stock for the rest of the world to joke about .

All the opp parties should boycott the "democracy" election. Just let this shit party play the game alone. Let the whole world see them. They have violated the regulations numerous times but nothing happen. all the different govt sectors smell the same. All smell of shit. corrupted help corrupted.
